Apple Watch has a new name Watch !!

My 5S is completely dead, I updated and then did "Reset all settings" (NOT erase) and it's now stuck at the apple logo and a bar around 5-10% of the way across. Hard reboot makes no difference; the bar starts again and stops at the same point

Looks like its time to get into recovery mode and try again.

So what do we think will happen when Apple Music drops at the end of the month now that we downloaded Beta 2 and there is no app?

I find it ridiculous that Apple advertises iOS 9 as improving battery life, even though thus far, the beta version of iOS 9 drains the battery at least twice as fast as iOS 8.0-8.3 did. How can Apple claim an extra hour of battery life when their beta gets less than half the battery life?

This isn't something minor that can be pushed off until later betas - this is a massive problem.

For anyone saying "Oh, it's just a developer version, so it doesn't matter.", consider the fact that we have 0 ability to test how our apps impact battery life right now. The OS drains the battery so fast, we can't tell whether our iPhone died because our app is hogging the battery, or because the OS did it.

I'm sorry but you don't sound like a dev to me. I wonder what the percentage of real dev to fake dev currently running iOS 9 is?

I have the music app on iPad. But devs don't really need the music app on their test devices.

Was slightly annoyed tonight as the dev account cost was £10 more than last year. :(

This beta 2 is running great on the iPhone 6...battery life is good and the phone seems faster, no lagging or anything with the app switcher and safari seems faster as well!

Do you get off on ridiculing people's comments in the thread?

Not really. It's just that some of the answers are so freaking obvious. I don't care what Cook or Federighi said in the keynote about the projected battery life in the finished product, we're talking about a first (and now second) beta release. Just tired of everyone whining about battery life, battery life, battery life. It could very well suck for another beta or two. It always has been that way. It most likely always will. If it doesn't it's a "win". Patience is always a virtue in the battery life sweepstakes for beta releases.

Battery drain issue seems resolved. Search seems more stable - index isn't constantly getting mucked up. Having various safari issues - e.g. in these forums I can't type a response on an iPad; the box is non-interactive (and missing toolbar). Some sort of javascript or rendering issue.

Good news about the battery issues.

Hopefully there will be more positive comments on this.

I am still not convinced on upgrading to DP2.

My apps don't need much catering.

Downloading from the Dev Portal now.

I gave up trying to OTA my 6 Plus even though my 5 worked fine first time.

There are definitely a lot of savvy users here who themselves are devs or professionals working on Mac OS and iOS devices who know what they are doing, but my guess is that the majority of the people who ask these kind of questions didn't know what they were getting themselves into when they downloaded the beta from a torrent and don't have access to the Apple dev forums to ask these kind of questions.

The fact of the matter is that these comments are bland and repetitive to the point of being nauseating, but I just skip through those and let them be.
Anyway, I salute your determination. i've given up hope for people not asking the same worn out questions again and again.

I'm sorry but all the comments about how iOS 9 is a mess because of the bad battery life in beta 1 is just ridiculous. Beta 1 is always bad so it shouldn't have been a surprise to anyone.

Oh my big improvement from beta 1. I am extremely impressed with the top left corner where it takes you back to what you were doing after selecting a notification like a text. Also Facetime has been no problem to me. Things seem to be smoother. Waiting for my iPhone 6 plus to fully charge to fully utilize battery performance. Props to apple on this release minus the radio of course but hey that's what betas are for! Love how smooth things look like the new text and everything.

'Real' Dev huh? I think anyone can be a dev if they contribute to Apple with either bug reports or development of an app on iOS 9. Hell even crash logs help Apple a ton with figuring out how to make this operating system the best it could be. So these 'Fake' devs help out too.

Its good seeing all these improvements so quickly on an operating system. I remember developing back for iOS 8 and it was pretty much unusable until beta 4. iOS 9 is very promising.
