So I wonder what bridgeOS does this actually download now? I assume it gives you the latest/correct version?
Yes, it gets the latest ver 18.xxx (can’t remember the exact version). I was running tail -f /var/log/install.log when running the installer and it told exact version number it was pulling down for install.

Finally got it on top of latest Catalina. To get rid of this bridgeOS issue you need to go to AppStore, find BigSur and update on that version first (you will get RC1), then you will be able to update on RC2. 🎉

I just installed the latest RC and so far performance has been really solid. The only issue I'm having is that Chrome performance is a bit of a train wreck. Slow and barely responsive with some basic tasks like Google Calendar.

Another issue is that my AirPods Pro sound horrible on Big Sur. They sound like they're on a high pass filter. No issues whatsoever before I upgraded.

Any word on whether or not RC2 is the same as the official release version? Both are labeled 11.0.1, but I haven't downloaded the official version to compare build numbers

I have three macs on RC2 and only one offered the small update. Very strange.

This RC2 really botched the whole beta for me. Now everything is slow and unresponsive.
