After going nearly crazy too often with Catalina this year, I feel like this week I'm either installing Big Sur or Mojave. Enough is enough.
Update your Apple Watch to watchOS 7.1 which fixes that bug. Worked for me.Okay....hopefully, THIS ONE fixes the unlock with Apple Watch bug that has plagued me since 11.0.1 was released!!!
Update: Nope.
I had the same issue with an earlier build. Look on the net and you can find a way to fix it.Still can't unlock with Apple Watch. Music is still riddled with bugs. What a release!
I guess that’s why they switched from GM to RC... Now they can have as many RCs as they want.
Same, unable to install due to the error as few reported here. /var/log/install.log says:

Anyone able to get this working?
Same happened to me... being new to MacOS I was not sure I was exiting the beta program the right way... but others have reported the same thing. When I installed RC1 I deleted the beta profile. When checking for update I was presented RC2 without the profile. Update went fine. Not complaining, but I have always thought that deleting the beta profile makes my Mac go back to only install release versions.
Count me in also. Installed RC1, deleted the beta program profile yesterday, this morning the RC2 public beta is downloading, 3.68 GB. Go figure.Same happened to me... being new to MacOS I was not sure I was exiting the beta program the right way... but others have reported the same thing.
Seems that if you had RC1.. then you were able to get RC2 whether or not you were still in the beta program. Others who did not have RC1 apparently are NOT getting RC2
It doesn't confirm anything.Does this confirm next iteration will be 11.1 instead of 12?
Works fine for me on my Series 2 watch (watchOS 6.2.9).Still can't unlock with Apple Watch. Music is still riddled with bugs. What a release!
I'm confused by that statement and not sure what they're trying to get at. I (and many others) were able to upgrade to RC2 from Catalina 10.15.7 with no issues. I literally just used terminal to enroll in the PublicSeed and downloaded the update through Software Update, which put the installer in my Applications folder. I then unenrolled from the PublicSeed and installed Big Sur.Someone earlier in the thread said they got an email from AppleSeed that said you need to be on RC1 before you can go to RC2 if you’re coming from Catalina. I’m getting the same error as you and I’m on Catalina, so I guess that’s the issue. I’ll just wait til tomorrow’s release I guess, not worth that hassle, imo.![]()
What mac do you have? And what do you mean by “used the terminal”?Works fine for me on my Series 2 watch (watchOS 6.2.9).

I'm using a 2017 15" MBP. The terminal is the app used to enter in command lines. I used some of the commands here to enroll and unenroll. It's basically just an alternative than using the beta profiles. What mac do you have? And what do you mean by “used the terminal”?
Nope. Was fine with 7.0. This started with macOS 11.0.1 for me, and some others. 7.1 did nothing, since 11.0.1 caused it.Update your Apple Watch to watchOS 7.1 which fixes that bug. Worked for me.

Refresh (COMMAND R) or restart your Mac.Anyone know how to download full image/installer? Previously I'd been able to just re-run the Beta Access Utility, though now it doesn't appear to download the whole thing.
EDIT: Here's the error I keep getting. Anyone know how to get around this so that I can download the complete install image?

Will this IASUCatalogURL then be set forever to that URL? Or will it change itself after the installation? Or is there any way to undo it after installation?Ok, I was able to install fine and get rid of the error by running the following:
sudo nvram IASUCatalogURL=https://swscan.apple.com/content/ca...n-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog
After that, run the installer and you should be fine
This is an issue with apple's CDN, they haven't yet put the new bridgeOS (T2 Chip firmware) on their content delivery network. It means that when u try and install Big Sur RC2 from an older version of macOS, the version of BridgeOS on your mac will be outdated and hence the update will fail.
Yes, it will revert back to the default after the install, just checked on my system after the update. Will this IASUCatalogURL then be set forever to that URL? Or will it change itself after the installation? Or is there any way to undo it after installation?
Just want to make sure this won't cause any updating issues in the future.
do you need to do anything but run that command in terminal? I tried and still got error after running this... oh never mind it copied the link with the ... and not the actual complete url so once I noticed that was the issue it installed fineOk, I was able to install fine and get rid of the error by running the following:
