Maybe when they're finished fixing Sierra's crippling, egregious, and unforgivable Finder bugs that make managing large complex directory structures on the Mac an increasingly untenable chore, they can begin working on those that persisted through all point updates to El Cap.

They did something with graphics. When I rebooted one of my displays was all whacked .

I saw that a few times since Sierra came out and the beta. Doesn't last but bothersome nonetheless.

So I downloaded and installed the update, it froze after initializing the install. No "time remaining" or anything. So it rebooted, and once a dimmed out Apple logo and progress bar show, the screen goes black except for an occasional progress circle that flashes at the bottom.

Any thoughts? Not sure what to do from here.

Same thing here, but it finished the installation after a while.

For the Mac Pro owners . Has system info always had automatic graphic switching listed ?

This is the first time I've seen that listed on my Mac Pro.
I could be wrong though.

Edit : It lists Television also.

Okay cool so just reboot and let it sit? I've tried booting into recovery and all that and nothing.

I rebooted it and that did the trick, I had the same problem with the first beta. I hope rebooting normally will work for your computer, too.

Sorry, but how does one get off the (public) beta bus at this point? I did it up until the public release and I'm happy for the moment, but the beta releases keep coming up in my downloads...?

[Disclaimer] Yes I'm a newbie to MacOS... bought a mac mini just prior to the very first public beta for Sierra to start a transition from Windows (shudder)... figured I'd learn the latest OS rather than what was already on there only to start again 2 months down the line... ;) Thanks!

Go to: System Preferences > App Store > change 'receive beta'

Guess we'll see. Did it sit on any specific screen for you? My cursor shows up for a split second along with a spinning wheel at the bottom, but nothing more. How long did yours take?

I didn't see the cursor, after waiting several minutes without any progress, I rebooted and had the black screen, another automatic reboot and eventually the login screen. Logging in took a few minutes, after that it was back to normal.

Wait - why does OS X require an update for the iOS bokeh effect? That's entirely done on the device, why would Photos require an update to be compatible with it? Or are we talking about RAW support?

I hope it fixes the problem i am having in Photo's.

I made this thread in the macOS Sierra section but haven't had any feedback, so it might just be me.

This is the post if anyone can help.

Since the upgrade to macOS Sierra, when i am browsing my photo library in Photo's i seem to be getting a slight delay before the photo loads properly.

Basically when i flick to the next photograph to view it, it appears immediately and looks ok but then about half a second later it all of a sudden brightens up and looks much better, it is as if the photo is taking about half a second to load properly.

Does anyone else get this, i cant remember it happening before, if i switch to my old iPhoto library this doesn't happen.

Weird. I restarted mine, it showed the lock screen wallpaper, then back to black. Not sure what it's doing.

This beta fixed a problem I had with 10.12.0 - Timemachine backups to a Synology NAS device were failing. Now working as before in 10.11.X.

Has anyone been able to copy a picture from Photos in Sierra to Notes on your iPhone?
Doesn't work for me in either of the two betas.

I copied a photo in iMessage on my laptop and was able to paste it into Notes on my iPhone, haven't tried it in Photos yet.

Mine had me worried for a while. Three reboots and the progress indicator never moved on any of them. It is all done now though and the build is 16B2333a

At some point I had a public beta on my iPad and the final release on my iPhone, and Universal Clipboard wouldn't work between those either. It might be intentionally blocking based on version numbers, not sure.

My progress bar never moved either, I posted a thread about it in the Mac forum. It stayed like that for about 30 minutes and I finally restarted the Mac and then it restarted itself again and then the update was installed when it came back on. This is the 2nd update that has done this now on both Mac Mini & Macbook air.
