Well, if there's a hardware Bluetooth issue then there's not much that could be fixed in a software update for it. As far as calendar, seems like Apple is working on it, and perhaps there's something for that in these betas even (assuming the fixes/changes aren't on iCloud/server side of things). Certainly a number of various bugs have been addressed and some other changes that some people have been hoping for or would find useful. Emojis are emojis, just a small update to keep up with the Unicode standards. Doesn't mean that much time or effort was spent on them, or that it was at the cost of something else given that the resources used for different things like that would often be different anyway.

I see your point and you are very right. I guess it wouldn't be a huge amount of resources for the emoji's anyway.. Not enough to relocate anywhere else.

Sucks about the bluetooth btw. I think a bunch of people were hoping it was software (which maybe it could be, but clearly not).

Either way, I guess I won't have to deal with it anymore. Decided to get an S7 Edge. Hopefully it will fare well compared to the iPhone. Still going to semi-troll these forums (kidding).

I've read on multiple posts and even seen screenshots that show the star rating setting in the Music App settings and have yet to find this on either my iPhone 7, Plus, or iPad. . . I'm wondering if this only shows up if you have music loaded from iTunes? I use AppleMusic and all I have are the "like / dislike" buttons.

Do you have the beta installed on all three of your devices? What version of the beta are you on?

The ratings have been in the beta since 10.2 beta 1.

Go to Settings->Music and make sure the option to show Ratings is checked.

Then the way you see them is by looking at the current song that is playing and click on the overflow button (3 dots) in the lower left of that song. A menu will pop up with options for Download, Delete From Library, Add to Playlist, etc (may vary depending if you have Apple Music or not). If there are lyrics for that song you will have to swipe up to scroll to see the Ratings option (Ratings will be below the Lyrics). Click on Ratings and a popup will appear allowing you to rate the song.

I found this picture to give the idea:

After seven Betas this release should be smoother than frogs fur. Thank goodness that I am retired and have enough time to go thru the install and test cycle.

Na, I saw the rest of the updates. Just being sully because still no bluetooth fix and 100% sure now that it's hardware which is why it's being ignored and which is why apple is deleting threads that talk about it on apple forums.
Are you having issues streaming bluetooth audio as well? If so, what device do you have exactly, and what are you having trouble streaming it with? I am have been having issues since getting my 7+ (AT&T model) with the bluetooth in our cars. One car is now working (it wasn't before 10.2 beta 3), but the other is still having issues - will try out with beta 7 now, but doubt that is working.

From apple dev:

The way to enable star ratings is to rate something with stars in iTunes, and sync or use iCloud library to get the track into the music player then turn on star ratings in the Music player preferences.

I am with you 100% on what you said. But take a look at the screens from my iPhone 7 running 10.2 Beta 7.. It's just not there. It never has been for me on any of my devices. I'll toss a song into iTunes from my old library, sync if to the phone and see if it magically appears.

Has anyone else been getting random touch id unlocking problems since ios 10 was released?
I have trouble either activating wallet or nothing happening and requiring an extra home key press. I just cant seem to get the control smooth and natural. Not sure if that’s qualifies as the kind of issue you are referencing, or just a learning issue for me.

I have 7+ AT&T edition. Basically anytime LTE is in use (browsing, notifications, etc) bluetooth skips like crazy. This is why people notice it in cars more than anywhere else, but I have skips at home as well.

I tried the new beta, still major skipping issues. If you want to force the skipping, start using LTE data (wifi off) and it will go really bad. Likewise, if you want to fix it, turn off cellular data and then there will be no skipping.

Yes, more issues caused by the intel chip. It's still not fixed, which more and more points to hardware. Be happy your calls work. :( I drop calls constantly in my home now (never did with the 6Ss+), and drop calls on my 45 minute drive 3-5 times on average (when it doesn't drop my call cuts out). I swapped it out, they gave me another intel based chip, same issue. Put my sim back in my old phone, works perfectly. Thinking about going back to my 6s+, but man I love the memory and camera on this thing.

I havnt regained full VR hands free functionality with my 2015 car since iOS 8(?). I sympathize. It was amazing being able to take a call or play a song without taking eyes off road. Its irritating going back to pulling over in a new car.

Turn on AT&T wifi calling if you are within wifi range. I dropped calls quite a bit too, but the wifi calling thing works really well.. Granted it's useless if you are driving, but like offices and home it's superb.

:( I know. Unfortunately, I got fed up with Apple finally (not fully, might get the cheapest macbook pro). But I jumped on a samsung s7 edge (unlocked international). So far not bad, everything works. A lot to get used to, but I can really say, it's not buggy at all. It feels smoother/faster than the iPhone too. Not sure why. Just stupid things like scrolling through music (apple music ironically).

Not selling it, I know this is macrumors not android stuff, but just keeping an open mind. I know that doesn't help anyone, but just sayin, there are other options if apple refuses to fix these issues.

That's very strange. I don't have a single song synced/downloaded to my device, just synced in the cloud via the iCloud music library and it works w/o an issue.

I'm so pissed I stayed on the Beta for 10.2. It's been nothing but a buggy disaster for me while I felt like 10.1 beta was super stable. As soon as they release it, I'm deleting my beta profile.
That's the purpose of the beta... if you never knew?
I waited till beta 6 of 10.2 to install (because I was getting sick of bugs in 10.1(.1) and am loving 10.2.
[doublepost=1481153811][/doublepost]
In other news, Facebook Messenger is on version 99.0 now.
Extremely off topic.

That's what I have been saying. I've tried turning off iCloud Music Library, Re-syncing the songs, etc. Nothing. It just doesn't show up on my devices. . . I guess once 10.2 is final I can contact Apple and see what might be causing it. Until then. . . .

I should add that even though my VR hands free worked perfectly before an iOS update. And has been terrible since, it only affected certain manufacturers. So the radio is probably not fully standards compliant.

But really. Can we talk about how dull MacRumors' reporting on these beta releases are? It's depressing that I can't come to what used to be my favorite site to easily see the build notes.

And for whoever is complaining about the fact that Apple is actively fixing problems and making it easier for regular users who are using beta to not be long affected by issues, I think you fail to see how dumb complaining about a company constantly improving it's product for the customer.
Are there public release notes available to be shared? Ones that even spell out what's new/changed when a new beta comes out?

Could someone talk about the beta please? Like, the content in it... you lot can squabble all you like but you're just taking away from people who want to try this out AND get some feedback on how things are functioning. I think I've seen 3, maybe 4 posts with any point or focus on content.

Take a breath, stop replying before reading everything, stop bloody bitching and moaning.

Apple have likely just gone more agile than previously, it's a good thing, I run thrice daily builds on my projects, with ad hoc deployment requests from any one at any stage... this is NOT shoddy practice, this is taking advantage of GOOD practices and garnering user feedback.

Now, seriously, what the **** has changed? Is TV better? Have the weird glitches in safari been tidied up? Animations still twitchy? What are people's experiences on different devices, any SE users have trouble?

Etc

I'd like to know if this fixes the issue with audio playback via Bluetooth. It's been intermittent for me, but existed with my 6 Plus, and now with my 7 Plus.

Can get a little annoying sometimes, but I'm not about to try to test the beta on a phone that I also use for work. At this point, I haven't seen anybody comment specifically on this, but I may have missed it if somebody has.

And yet you're still not understanding. Not surprised. Better to release things with less issues. If they did this, there would have been 1 release this week, buddy. Do you not understand that? Lol
Betas dont really work like you are imagining. A beta 4 could address some totally different issue or introduce a totally new feature to be tested and break something that was working in beta 3. Thats the entire point of beta "testing". I believe you have missed the whole point. Most software do nightly builds.

I have done everything that I can think of including a complete restore from a new IPSW on all of the devices and then download the 10.2 betas again (I don't know if you can download the 10.2 public beta IPSWs), and I don't restore from an iCloud Backup. It's the strangest thing I have ever seen, but I do appreciate your (or anyone else's) thoughts on it!

With these late cycle betas more than likely it's some sort of individual fixes/changes (often related to security or something else fairly important or necessary) going in that often might not really be noticeable. That's not to say that it's not always something that isn't really noticeable, but often enough that's what it's like. In this case it's possible it was some additional logging that was added in relation to Apple trying to figure out the early shutdown issue that quite a few people have been experiencing, but could be some other security type of fix or something like that too.

Yeah, totally not uncommon to throw in some debugging, especially when the public beta provides the biggest sample data pool they have.

Good shout! :)

If I had some Bluetooth speakers or hesdphones I'd test it for you :( sorry

Unfortunately, that doesn't work for me. I have such a strong LTE signal in my house, it doesn't kick over to the WiFi calling. WiFi calling will only engage below a certain threshold. :(

Since this latest beta, my iCloud calendar isn't synchronising.

Changes I make on my laptop show immediately on iCloud.com but the phone calendars don't update. So I turned off iCloud calendar, rebooted, and turned it back on. Now I have no entries showing at all. Anyone else? I've logged a Feedback.

Edit: Fixed! Calendars appeared after about 15 minutes and all seems ok. I created an event on my laptop and within a few seconds it was on my phone.
