Mmmm, frosted pop tarts, Saturday morning cartoons, and dialing random numbers on the rotary dial just to listen to the clicks LOL.

Frosted Raspberry, Jonny Quest, the Herculoids and the Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Show. Dialing the rotary dial phone without a need to use it had consequences, though, but damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!

That seems to be on the developer to fix though. Apple said they'd be removing 32-bit support.
Acrobat DC seems good for me as of Beta 7. Of course, the fix is probably Adobe's :)

Snappier as usual. Why?

I did because I'm a BOSS!!!!!!!!!
This joke is almost as old as "This can only mean one thing--the G5 Powerbooks are here!" :-D

In any case, it looks like macOS will be well-positioned to last us till 2030, when, by the last estimate, Copland ships. :)

Grabbed Beta 7 yesterday and now can't use Chrome, Slack and Spark. Anyone else have this issue?

This beta seems to have deleted items on my desktop or moved them somewhere. I had to go to iCloud.com to recover my files. Still don’t have read/write permissions for “My Documents.” Only “My Documents” on the iDrive.

They are in the sidebar under your Home location in a folder called Recovered files. Just copy them into they're proper iCloud location and you will see them uploading again. I got everything fixed already on the public beta. I don't know what change they made or if it had anything to do with on the last beta the folder icons were missing for Documents & Desktop. And also iCloud Drive was broken in 3rd party apps on last beta. Seems to be fixed on this beta but claiming no permission to open location in 3rd party apps like Forklift.

I also copied the entire Recovered Files folder to an external drive to have a backup of incase things change or get screwed up again but I notice that the upload to iCloud is going very very slow....

It's also in the release notes...
  • After updating to macOS Catalina 10.15 Beta 7 or later, iCloud Drive might synchronize for an extended period of time. If you notice any missing files, they can be found inside a Recovered Files folder in your home folder. (54046219)
I don't know where you or Apple got their information but that is BS. The Recovered Folder is only partial. Thankfully, everything is online at the iCloud website. I'm guessing I will be using the online iCloud until Beta 8. :/

This seventh beta is a disaster for the Music app. For users that aren't using Apple Music but load your own music files into Music and sync with iPhone, this beta will kill you.

All the songs that are already synced will be fine but for the new songs that are synced with this beta, it will appear as ”grey” on the phone. When you click on it, it will pop up and say ”the song is not available for this region or country.”

So in short, the Music app syncing is malfunctioning on this beta. All the new songs that you sync will be grey out and unable to play on the phone.

I have to revert to beta six for music sync to work properly...does anyone also encounter this syncing problem in beta seven...?

At this point, at the corner to lunch, Apple should really focus on the minor details...

- No album art for music file icon
- The island dynamic wallpaper is still not working
- Permission error: If you put an HTML on desktop and double click to open it, Safari will respond with an error. However, if you put the HTML file under ”home” (/Users/home), then Safari has no problem open it.

what I have found with the betas for this release is as each beta comes out create a New USB installer and DO a Full clean install that way I Dom't end up with a recovered folder. I can see when this is released that it will cause mayhem unless apple find a way of easier upgrades. Since they have changed a lot of folder locations. At the moment its Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/then the content is several folder Music, TvShows, Movies..etc
in Catalina its For, Music/media/music For Videos Movies/TV/Media/Then 2 folders Download-TV and Movies. That alone will cause Major problems when upgrading.

I’ve seen similar issues with the TV app trying to sync tv shows and films to iOS 13 beta iPad. I wasn’t sure if it was iPad OS update or Catalina as I didn’t think and updated them both at the same time. But it sounds like it’s on the Catalina side.

still, I’m sure it’ll all be fine in 8 days time....

You guys actually think Catalina 15.0 will be released thenday of the sept. 10th event!?! I think you’re badly mistaken.

possibly at best a Golden master CANDIDATE but I personally think it still needs a month or 2 work done yet!!!

Using it as my daily driver on 2018 Mac mini, didn't install until beta 6 tho. (I was beta testing on MacBook 12 the whole time, that was bad) but not having any issues on my Mac mini, everything works and it seems to be faster than Mojave also. Only issue I had is after install Sidecar wasn't working and neither was Hotspot from my iPhone/iPad. But a restart fixed that. iCloud synced within an hour... I think it's ready for primetime on some devices. But not all devices will run the same, it turned my 2016 MacBook 12 into a snail. I believe that the new OS is always optimized for the newest Macs first.

Agreed. Theres no law that mandates Apple release the OS every september.
Sure they have for the past few releases but historically macos releases have been all over the map.

Release of something as important as a new OS shouldnt be dictated by a date on the calendar, it should guided by its stability and readiness.

It's an iPhone event. I think it is highly unlikely that anything about Catalina will be announced and even if something is, I think it even more unlikely that a release date will be announced. We will know soon enough.
