Did they pull the public beta? I'm still on 21A5506j with no updates.

Seems to be available now.

What Mac are you using? I was able to update my Intel iMac but my M1 MacBook Pro - nothing. Really annoying me!

The full installer is available now too. It is an 11GB download which only installs a 34.8MB installer. Reason: SharedSupport folder is missing from the Contents folder in the installer package. I posted a workaround here:

Command is the same for betas 3 to 7 as for beta 2. However you have to "fix" the full installer for beta 7 before you can make a bootable usb of beta 7. If you download the full installer it installs a small Install macOS Monterey beta installer (34.8MB) in your Applications folder: You...

Basically move the SharedSupport folder into the Contents folder.

I wonder if there's any sign yet of this year's dynamic desktop image? I am getting a little concerned by it still being a no show at this relatively late stage. I find it hard to believe that Apple would drop such a distinctive visual element after only a few years of life

People who laughed at this: I know it isn't tremendously important in the grand scheme of things, but it is a major visual element that has an effect on how you experience each version of the OS

If it’s like the last two versions of macOS it will be out in November.

This makes sense to me, it also fits into the probable timeline for the next round of Macbook Pros with the m1x/m2 chips.
