6 beta's for a 10.x.3 dot-release...?
They must be lauching at those alpha testing herds - throwing everyting on their devices...

Sadly, as some of my favorite app are not supported in iOS11 I must stay with iOS10 on my iPhone 7. Thus, whatever Apple can do to get it as close to perfect as possible, I'm all for it.

They nag for two reasons.

One is so that you will remember that you can’t use that app now, and so you should attempt to tell the developer to update, or to find out if they are still in business.

Two is so that you can decide to delete it if you find out it can’t be deleted, because otherwise you could forget.

After all, if you find you can’t update it, and you can’t use it, why would you keep it?

Example: I have a 32 bit app that emulates a desktop browser and allows me to download "dmg" files like iTunes from the web. You might say, just downloaded it over the internet, well not all of us have internet, I only have cellular data and electric. I pay $20 mo for 2GB of data in hotspot. But my cellular is unlimited. Using the app saves me from paying $20 for another 2GB of hotspot data or waiting two months to download a large or combo update.

I don't know what the heck is going on but my battery life on 10.3.2 has been awful on my 7 Plus. I do hope whatever is causing that gets fixed. If it's not the iOS, then I don't know what's going on.

You should be looking for replacements for those apps.

You can't always find replacements for apps. For example, I have an app for my JBL L8 speaker that is used to control its built in equalizer and configure some of its features. The app was last updated in 2014, is 32 bit, and does not work on iOS 11. I already contacted JBL many months ago and they show absolutely no sign of updating this app. Without the app I can't change equalizer settings for the speaker.

I'm going to have to keep an iOS 10 device around just for this damn speaker unless JBL releases an update. It's not an inexpensive speaker too; this is a $600 product. Sure I can blame JBL for not releasing the update but it can't be expected for manufacturers to support their products forever.

Apple shouldn't break old apps this way.

If you don’t, then you will never be able to get a new phone, or iPad, so you might as well start looking now.
Well, let us die, but slowly. :p
There is something called nostalgia.
Things could be even more critical in industrial environments.

Just downloading it now. I have an iPad 4 which I use for basic tasks and wish to continue to do so.

My partner had an iPhone 4 ( which got me iinterested in the Apple eco system ) and that was left almost useless with ios7, so I hope the last version of ios10 is as good as it can be.
How is it?

I have our iPad 4 still on 9.3.5. It was the fastest on iOS 6 and every year it's been slowing down more so I stopped at 9.3.5.

Customer is ultimately the first, if not last , one being abandoned and forgotten.
There are discussions regarding the customer support in IoT world. We are just experiencing all of such earlier.
Luckily, I have no critical app that is 32-bit app, and 128-bit is still something that is futuristic for a long time.

iOS 6 was fantastic on iPad 4th gen ( and iPhone 5 ).

From a quick check this new beta seems pretty good. From memory I think you will prefer it to iOS 9 as I think it runs smoother.

A bit off topic, but does anyone have the wallpaper that is pictured in the OG post?

After reading Michael Tsai blog, I updated to this 10.3.3 beta. It fixed the GoodReader App sync servers files with special caracters (accents for example). Great!

I wonder why there’s so many betas for what seems to be such a minor release.

I saw the word beta on Twitter had hoped it was for iOS 11!

The reason for so many betas on 10.3.3, is (barring some critical fix or security patch in the future) that 10.3.3 is likely to be the last update the iPhone 5 (maybe also some earlier iPad devices too) will see.

Apple is trying to give the iPhone 5 a good send off (as well as make a nice transition for iOS 11.)

I've noticed a change to the way Safari is handling background media. If the video or audio stream isn't visible Safari is automatically pausing/stopping it, presumably to save power.

This might make sense for video but for audio tracks it makes no sense whatsoever. I'm noticing that audio tracks are now cutting out whenever the display sleeps or even if you scroll past the controls in the same window! I didn't notice this in any previous betas, nor can I find a setting to switch the behaviour off and allow background media playback!

Why have they seemingly introduced this change so late in the beta cycle? Can anyone else confirm or comment on this because it's pretty frustrating. I've even noticed videos stopping as soon as the video isn't completely visible in the current Safari window!

This one failed to install on the 1st try, NOT ENOUGH SPACE. But all the other beta releases did. Is the final version just going to be planned BLOATWARE to bog your iPhone 5s down so you buy a new on? I'm starting to wonder.

Sure I can blame JBL for not releasing the update but it can't be expected for manufacturers to support their products forever.

So you can't expect manufacturers to support their products forever (by doing a simple update), but you expect Apple to continue supporting third party 32-bit apps on its product forever? That's quite a confusion of expectations.

JBL is absolutely the one at fault there. If they're going to force you to use another company's product to fulfil basic functionality of their product, they should at least make sure they do what's required to support that.

I think the sixth beta is released on for ip 7 and not for 6, 5S and SE.
Can someone clarify.

More and more people are starting to realize that Apple supports its most expensive products for a far shorter time period than Microsoft does on some CHEAP products. The Reality Distortion Field is dead with Steve Jobs. Tim Cook does not have the power. And people are noticing.
