Okay, I can see why it was added. You don't know how many threads I accidentally deleted on my 6+ after the iOS update that enabled reply from lock screen. Since the 6+ doesn't have 3D Touch, you swipe left and hit "reply" instead of doing a hard press. Sometimes I would be in the Messages app, and just out of habit slide and tap, instantly deleting the whole thread with no recourse. I'm also someone who never deletes messages, so it seemed weird to me deleting a whole thread was so easy. So assuming that's the reason it was requested/added, maybe it could be a change where the confirmation only pops up on non-3D Touch devices?
