All I want is a fix for my GPS issues.. :( Assuming that it's a software problem.

https://discussions.apple.com/message/32557814

It happened to my 6s+ and I think I accidentally found a fix.

I was on 6+ and transferred back up to my new 6s+ on ios 11.2.5. The I realised that GPS didn’t not work with navigation app (position did not move on the go) on the new 6s+.

I tried to turn off all network connections: Bluetooth, Wifi and Cellular. All turned off in the settings (do not use the one in control centre as it is not an actual turn off). Put the display setting not into sleep mode. Then launch Apple Map app or Google Map app.

Leave the phone near the window or garden where you think it can get a good GPS signals. It would take from 15-30 mins to have a good GPS lock-in by using it own GPS module without the assistance from Bluetooth, WiFi and Cellular. Until you can see the blue circle of your position getting smaller, it meant your phone got a good GPS locked in.

It only requires for the first time the phone got good GPS lock-in. Then GPS works every time for me with GPS lock-in within seconds, even when I use the navigation app once a week.

Anyone else has been getting intermittent audio playback gaps while playing music over bluetooth?
My Bluetooth headphone has the ability to connect two device simultaneously (lesser version of AirPods version) and it works extremely great except one situation: if my watch or iPhone wants to play music, watch will stop phone from playing but not other way round.
I did not notice lots of intermittent playback gaps though.

Just installed the PB. Still the same crap. After the update the apps take a lot of time to start and still no battery informations since beta 3!!!

And iOS still slows down my phone when my iPhone reaches 5% of battery where no app can get started. After 1-2 minutes while it tries to start the apps, the apps are crashing.
Seems like you have an old phone with a bad battery since batteries start get bad after about 2 years.. its very cheap to get a new one. Maby worth it so you can stop cry like a baby?

Not for me, I've been waiting for Airplay 2 so that I my Homepods can replace my Sonos speakers multiroom audio feature, only to discovered that they dropped it from this release.
Apple will reintroduce when ready, otherwise a boring, stable release is a good thing. Must be near the end with intra-week beta updates.

Nope. It's a new battery. iBackupbot and Battery Life say %100

Can we have the facility where your watch/phone alerts you when they go out of range of one or the other to avoid forgetting them.
I had this on my first and second generation Pebble Watch.
One of the many basic, yet important features Apple constantly leave out of their updates.

Thanks... what i've been getting is literal cuts in playback, not even pauses or skips cos the track keeps going; it just goes mute for maybe 2 seconds tops and then it resumes as if nothing.

Okay, I can see why it was added. You don't know how many threads I accidentally deleted on my 6+ after the iOS update that enabled reply from lock screen. Since the 6+ doesn't have 3D Touch, you swipe left and hit "reply" instead of doing a hard press. Sometimes I would be in the Messages app, and just out of habit slide and tap, instantly deleting the whole thread with no recourse. I'm also someone who never deletes messages, so it seemed weird to me deleting a whole thread was so easy. So assuming that's the reason it was requested/added, maybe it could be a change where the confirmation only pops up on non-3D Touch devices? I've yet to accidentally delete a thread on my 7+, and didn't even know there was a confirmation now (like I said, I never delete messages :p)
I’m fine with them adding it, but give us people the option to disable who don’t want it.

Yep very annoying. Feels like windows. Remember when introduced “just swipe to the left to delete” and now swipe left and confirm. I normally delete my messages practically daily so this need to confirm really bugs me. SJ has been turning around in his grave he doesn’t even know what position he’s in anymore. Someone would starting to miss someone he never knew. Damn it Coock get your s..t together.
All they have to do is add the ability for us to enable or disable it. Such an easy fix. I hate when stuff is forced on us. If you want it in your software fine, it’s yours, but allow me, the owner of my device, to disable it if I think the feature is retarded. This feature is utterly retarded.

Oh, thank you. I am the Apple engineer that gets feedback through the MacRumors forum instead of through the feedback app that Apple provides to beta testers. It’s due to diligent forum posters like you that these bugs get squashed!!!

I hope you have your pen and paper ready, because there is still a long, LONG list of bugs in this beta, that have a) been reported in the feedback app) and b) reported over and over in these beta threads for 11.3

So the update displays the size but does this mean that its in addition to the current app you have already?

So don't use it. Simple as that.

Let’s have everything have an enable and disable box while we are at it. The settings app needs more bloat.

I agree. Users don't need to be able to configure their devices. Apple knows best what everyone needs Finally, one setting is perfect for everyone because they all have the exact same needs.

I see you’re willfully missing the point. “Warn users when they’re about to delete something” isn’t exactly someth8ng people need to configure. This isn’t a case of brightness, this is a case of there bring no reason to change default behavior.

If you read through that long thread you find that it might be a mix of different issues, so it may still be hardware for some of us. Many people with a brand new iPhone have it, but others with older phones claim that replacing the GPS hardware (antenna?) fixes it. For me the issue appeared within a week from an iOS update, so I had assumed it was software, but who knows. I'll keep an eye on that thread, hopefully most of these cases can be fixed in software.

Thanks, I hadn't seen that thread. Assuming that we can trust Redditors (bear with me here) this quote stood out to me:

"I work at a certain fruity place, and I keep seeing customers come in with this issue. We can't figure out how to fix it. I've had multiple customers just upgrade due to it. I know that's crap but if it's out of warranty it might be time to upgrade."

Hey, maybe Apple just quietly changed the requirements on GPS signal strength to be just around the capabilities of older phones, to protect us from unreliable GPS signals. j/k :D

For what it's worth try "Reset all settings". i.e. General --> Reset --> Reset All settings

Worked for me to 'fix' GPS issues introduced after update to 11.2.6 on an iPhone 6S.

Here's the relevant Apple Discussion thread where I found that particular fix.

https://discussions.apple.com/message/33200392?ac_cid=tw123456#33200392

It's a good thread to see what others have tried to fix various GPS issues. Reading both that thread and elsewhere there does appear to be a hardware issue with the GPS antenna on the iPhone 6.

Hope it helps.
