6S is laggy. Last pub bet was worse after install before a reboot. Twitter was catastrophic but ok after reboot.
My 6s Plus is pretty ok and twitter is pretty good. Granted I am not using beta but still. A9 is still a powerful processor.

Apple today seeded the sixth beta of an upcoming iOS 11.4 update to developers, three days after seeding the fifth beta and more than a month after releasing iOS 11.3, a major update that introduced several new features.

Registered developers can download the new iOS 11.4 beta from Apple's Developer Center or over-the-air once the proper configuration profile has been installed from the Developer Center.

The iOS 11.4 update introduces a new ClassKit framework for educational institutions, which supports new features announced at Apple's March 27 education-focused event.

For regular users, the iOS 11.4 update adds features that were originally present in the iOS 11.3 beta but removed ahead of release.

It includes support for Messages on iCloud, designed to store your iMessages in iCloud rather than on each individual device, allowing for improved syncing capabilities. Currently, incoming iMessages are sent to all devices where you're signed in to your Apple ID, but there is no true cross-device syncing.

Messages on iCloud will allow you to download all of your iMessages on new devices, and a message deleted on one device will remove it on all devices. Older messages and attachments are also stored in iCloud rather than on-device, saving valuable storage space.

The iOS 11.4 update also includes AirPlay 2 features, with the Apple TV once again available in the Home app. With AirPlay 2, the same audio content can be played in multiple rooms on devices that support AirPlay 2. AirPlay 2 includes a feature that lets you ask Siri on one device to play content on another AirPlay 2-enabled device. So, for example, you can ask Siri on iPhone to play content on your Apple TV in another room if you're running the iOS 11.4 and tvOS 11.4 betas.

There were initially signs of support for HomePod stereo sound in the first iOS 11.4 beta, a long-promised feature, but stereo sound didn't work properly and the mention was removed in the second beta. It's not clear if it will return for the update's release.

For the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, there's a new (PRODUCT)RED wallpaper available, which is not available on iPhone X. During beta testing, Apple implemented a USB Restricted Mode that introduces a week-long expiration date on access to the Lightning port on iOS devices for data purposes if your iPhone hasn't been unlocked, which has implications for law enforcement tools like the GrayKey box. Mentions of the feature were removed from Apple's release notes, so it's not clear if it will be included in iOS 11.4.

With six betas having been released, we are nearing the end of the beta testing period. iOS 11.4 is likely to see a public launch in the next few weeks.

Update: Apple has also seeded the sixth beta of iOS 11.4 to its public beta testing group. For developers, the update is also now available over-the-air.

[doublepost=1526615014][/doublepost]I wonder if they will ever get around to fixing the bug that causes charging to cease when your iPad Pro 9.7 in locks into the Logitech smart keyboard.

These updates have played havoc with my 6 plus, lagging, battery, safari crashing to name just a few. Looking forward to new models in sept

My 6s is still pretty peppy overall. I’m on the betas and haven’t had any issues lately. I don’t have any newer iPhones to compare it with though. Twitter was laggy af until their recent updates. Now it seems fine.

I’ll voluntarily beta test but I’m not going to pay Apple in order to do so. Plus the first developer beta release is the buggiest. I’ve never had serious issues with the first public beta until iOS 11.

I usually patiently wait for Public Beta 3 for my primary devices.

It is a quite feature light release on the iPhone. Nothing that should have made 11 so much worse than 10.
But couldn't very well have plenty of things that aren't just visible user features.

Adds nothing except a design change but literally halves the performance of older products.
Right, literally.

Going to be interesting especially the iMessage in Cloud.... will it be encrypted via online or can be easily hacked?

Well, iMessages wouldn't really be accessible from iCloud in the sense of logging in an using them, they would be there sort of in the backup capacity in the sense that they would be restored to your device when you are signing into your Apple ID. And clearly with the way iMessage works and how Apple iCloud data and backups work, of course it's encrypted, as all those things are already encrypted basically.

Apple TOLD us prior to iOS 11 release, it was not aimed at being big feature update for iPhone, but for the IPAD. We knew this, we chose to update anyways.

I don't care that it wasn't a big feature release, my problem is how much worse it runs without any justification.

I don’t see performance on my iPhones being worse than iOS 10. iOS 11.4b6 is very good.
It clearly isn't. While my iPhone X is very fast I still don't find it to be as smooth as my iPad on iOS 10.There are small jumps in animations clearly visible if you use ios 10 alongside ios 11. Then there is the fact that my iPhone 7 Plus battery life took a nosedive on iOS 11 and random stuttering still plagues it. It's not just me though. Apple seems to have realised iOS 11 was a lemon and thankfully the focus is going to be on efficiency and performance in iOS 12. I can't wait till they launch it so I can get rid of this horrid OS once and for all.

To clarify, It clearly isn’t to you but to me iOS 11.4 is very good. iOS 11 is installed on all of my iPhones and don’t have the issues you are referring to.

My guess about iOS 12 is a smoke screen and once it’s launched the usual cribbing will take place.

YouTube tests have proven that iOS 11 is factually slower than iOS 10 on the same device.

Its always been this way. iOS 8 was awesome. iOS 9 was horrible. iOS 10 fixed iOS 9. Likewise iOS 12 will fix iOS 11. iOS 11 is sadly even below the bar set by Apple themselves for low quality releases.

I don’t care if iOS 11 is milliseconds slower according to any test, it’s fully patched against a host of security issues and better than iOS 10, imo.

Those milliseconds add up to seconds over multiple releases. And thats in addition to those small stuttery animations which are not there on iOS 10. iOS 11 stutters at least twice or thrice in animations on a daily basis. iOS 10 has zero stutters. Its also designed with home button devices in mind. Hence why even the iPad home button is faster on iOS 10 than 11
