Im still having an issue with Mojave and the fusion drive running APFS. My fusion drive is the 1TB with the 128GB SSD built in. When I get around 100gb remaining the operating system thinks I am out of space. And it feels like it too. It runs extremely sluggish and I have to delete a few things to get it to run a lot better. And disk utility is saying there is around 100GB left.

Just installed today's beta on my production 2018 MacBook Pro. Works great so far with all my apps, except one tiny thing. Silverlight. We use it on our internal website for options on our homes we build. I guess they deprecated it. Guess I will have to find an alternate way to check those.

I remember when 8 betas was the most we could get on a system before the GM candidate
but now those days are gone, I understand times change, moving on and stuff like that
but this is getting plain ridiculous to the point of total craziness or insanity
now apple is releasing betas every week and a new os version every year

I think a beta every 2 weeks is reasonable but I guess doing it this way we should have less bugs at launch
I like updates and new versions of Mac OS but I think this "new version of Mac OS" every year has to stopped at some point

the only one that truly feel like an update is Mojave
Mojave is to High Sierra what Yosemite was to Mavericks

my only question is

WTH happen to the Mac Pro?????
no update in 5 years
what's going on Tim

really hope to hear something about the new Mac Pro in this event coming up in the next few days

you just have to wait for Microsoft to update their Silverlight version

How does it compare to High Sierra? Are you seeing performance increases? Would you suggest for everyday use? Thanks man!

Maybe, but it doesn't matter to me. I don't really work in the options page in IT. I just reference it every now and then for issues we may get. I can always use Citrix to get into it if I have to or a VM. Speaking of Citrix, the receiver/workspace is also gone. I just use the app though. Not a biggie.

Being this late in the beta process, I think it's very well tuned for my needs. Sure two things don't work like Citrix Receiver/Workspace or Silverlight, but those aren't showstoppers for me. I have workarounds. However dark mode? It's not for me.

Hey, I'm an artist, and when I tried PB 2, it killed all pressure sensitivity on my Cintiq and Astropad. Anyone try any tablets yet to see if that's fixed?

How's the stability of this thing? Thinking of downloading from High Sierra but don't know if I want to risk it yet.

I won't lie... for usual daily driver use, it's solid. You can tell it's nearly ready to release and should be final in a couple weeks. If you have a very specific set of workflows and get weird about the way certain things moved in the past and don't like any change at all, well, any update isn't for you. However, I follow these boards and betas very closely and virtually none of the problems I hear about are something I would normally find unless I made it a point to look for it.

Yes, I would argue that the mere fact that a new beta update has been released is not news of any value, unless there is information of practical relevance, i.e. It reveals a feature, or plan, or suggests an imminent release.

Unless the change or new feature is in the beta release notes then it won't get caught quickly. The comment section is where that tends to get called out as people download it, run it, and spot new features or changes (if any).

Cut out the posts and you cut out that discussion...

For all those whining about MacRumors posting this every time there's an update, being on the Public Beta myself, I appreciate the notification because without it I wouldn't know there was an update until sometimes 24 hours after it was released.
I don't mind the MR updates about the betas on the contrary I like them, I stopped testing the beats because I'm waiting on the official version, it should be around the corner any time during this month "I hope"

yes is good to know about the beta updates but you should get an update notification in Mac OS Mojave as soon as a new update is available, so you don't have to wait 24 hours to find out or wait for MR either.

but if that is the work it works for you then that's fine with me
i personally rather see the updates on my own system as soon as they become available

hi there what I was trying to say is that some times certain apps doesn't work with a new operating systems because that app requires an update to work with that new system, the same thing happens with Nvidia web drivers, when there is a drastic change on the OS like a major OS update like this one, then they have to rewrite the code and add features, is not the same that updating from 10.13.5 to 10.13.6 that the person can only modify a file to match the system version so the web drivers can load, but in Mojave many things change and a whole new driver has to be written by nvidia to support those graphics card, I know that maybe you don't have an Nvidia card but the reason why I'm telling you this is to use it as an example because the same principle applies to silverlight

either apple change something and a new version of silverlight is require for Mojave
or since Mojave still beta something is broken and that's why it doesn't work
you will have to wait until the official version is release to find out which one it is

cheers
