It must be down to Metal since they're both i7 based machines. In the past it’s been mentioned that it’s whether the machine’s GPU can support Metal or not that determines the cutoff.
Never had a Power point problemPowerPoint still working under Mojave 18A384a
you just have to wait for Microsoft to update their Silverlight versionJust installed today's beta on my production 2018 MacBook Pro. Works great so far with all my apps, except one tiny thing. Silverlight. We use it on our internal website for options on our homes we build. I guess they deprecated it. Guess I will have to find an alternate way to check those.
How does it compare to High Sierra? Are you seeing performance increases? Would you suggest for everyday use? Thanks man!Just installed today's beta on my production 2018 MacBook Pro. I remember when 8 betas was the most we could get on a system before the GM candidate
but now those days are gone, I understand times change, moving on and stuff like that
but this is getting plain ridiculous to the point of total craziness or insanity
now apple is releasing betas every week and a new os version every year
I think a beta every 2 weeks is reasonable but I guess doing it this way we should have less bugs at launch
I like updates and new versions of Mac OS but I think this "new version of Mac OS" every year has to stopped at some point
the only one that truly feel like an update is Mojave
Mojave is to High Sierra what Yosemite was to Mavericks
my only question is
WTH happen to the Mac Pro?????
no update in 5 years
what's going on Tim
really hope to hear something about the new Mac Pro in this even coming up in the next few days

How's the stability of this thing? Thinking of downloading from High Sierra but don't know if I want to risk it yet.
GMs are riddled with bugs. The first beta of 10.14.1 is probably more stable.
The first developer beta usually doesn’t get released to the public. That’s why public beta release number is one behind the developer release number. Why does it say PB 9? Shouldn't it say PB 10?
Font rendering looks a bit worse to me though, even on Retina displays... Somewhat disappointing that they had to remove subpixel anti-aliasing :/
I’m just pointing out the stability fact.If you’re worried about stability I’d wait until the actual 10.14.1 is released and avoid betas and the initial release altogether.
Why does MacRumors continue to post these beta releases on their Front Page? It one exposes something really interesting just create an article about that interesting thing. Tired of having to scroll past "Apple seeds beta ..." posts.
Yes, I would argue that the mere fact that a new beta update has been released is not news of any value, unless there is information of practical relevance, i.e. It reveals a feature, or plan, or suggests an imminent release.
I've been turning off 'Use font smoothing when available' in System Preferences / General -- seems to look better imo when in Dark Mode...
I don't mind the MR updates about the betas on the contrary I like them, I stopped testing the beats because I'm waiting on the official version, it should be around the corner any time during this month "I hope"For all those whining about MacRumors posting this every time there's an update, being on the Public Beta myself, I appreciate the notification because without it I wouldn't know there was an update until sometimes 24 hours after it was released.
Retina display? Thanks for sharing. Makes a significant difference.
hi there what I was trying to say is that some times certain apps doesn't work with a new operating systems because that app requires an update to work with that new system, the same thing happens with Nvidia web drivers, when there is a drastic change on the OS like a major OS update like this one, then they have to rewrite the code and add features, is not the same that updating from 10.13.5 to 10.13.6 that the person can only modify a file to match the system version so the web drivers can load, but in Mojave many things change and a whole new driver has to be written by nvidia to support those graphics card, I know that maybe you don't have an Nvidia card but the reason why I'm telling you this is to use it as an example because the same principle applies to silverlightMaybe, but it doesn't matter to me. I don't really work in the options page in IT. I just reference it every now and then for issues we may get. I can always use Citrix to get into it if I have to or a VM. Speaking of Citrix, the receiver/workspace is also gone. I just use the app though. Not a biggie.

Being this late in the beta process, I think it's very well tuned for my needs. Sure two things don't work like Citrix Receiver/Workspace or Silverlight, but those aren't showstoppers for me. I have workarounds. However dark mode? It's not for me.
So much for METAL compatible graphics cards.
Still cannot install it. And Fat chance I'll be buying a new Mac just for DARK MODE! LOL
