There is ZERO lag over here.Havent seen a single stutter in the 3 days I had this phone..I am not exaggerating. Not even one.The infamous mobile data menu also doesn't stutter. In comparison my iPhone 6 is laggy though

I call ********. I took mine to the genius bar complaining about stutters when I scroll in for example Message.app. We compared with other iPhone 7's and they ALL had the same stutter and they even said that was "normal" and might be fixed in upcoming patches. The only way your iPhone 7 is stutter free is if you a) just don't see it, or b) you don't want to see it.

Or, it just doesn't exist the same way for everybody.

I won't call "********" on you because I don't think you're lying, but I don't see this scrolling stuttering either. The only place my 7 lags for a split second in Messages is when i scroll past a video or animation that it obviously has to load into memory for the first time. And after that it's buttery smooth again. Perhaps there's a specific condition tied to it where it will happen 100% of the time, but without that it just doesn't happen?

I cant believe more isn't being made about iPhone 7 devices not connecting and staying on 4G. I am hoping the 10.1 release sorts this out. Such an annoyance

It's not in the actual chat but in the chat list if you know what I mean? Also the same thing in the mail list but to a lesser degree. In other places like web pages and in chats it is smooth. That is what is pointing to it being a software issue, not hardware. But as I said, some people don't seem to notice it, one of the geniuses couldn't see it but others could for example.

Agreed. Not for everyone but mine drained overnight without any use. Downgrading quickly resolved it for me.
I'm ok waiting for the final release. After that, I'll just be good and wait for it.

I used to be upset too, but oddly enough, I find certain casual things that people share with me like that just fine. If it's not meant to be a Kubric production, and and I can view it without rotating the phone then it's fine. If it's meant to be casually seen on a "phone" then it's perfectly fine. Charming even.
Considering almost everything gets viewed on phones now...I almost saw your point. Until I actually thought about it and it makes no sense. And calling it charming is just encouraging the bastards.

I find it funny so many users talk about lag but iPhone 7 reviews never mention it.

Anandtech did: http://www.anandtech.com/show/10685/the-iphone-7-and-iphone-7-plus-review/9

Go to that link, scroll down under UI Performance and they explain it well.

The app switching and closing stutters are there. I've had two iPhone 7's and been to three different stores and checked their display 7's and 7+'s. All had it. Some people won't notice it. It's not a performance issue, it's an implementation issue.

Thats actually a really good take on the state of performance. I read through it and its spot on. Sure iOS is most smooth but there will never be a device/OS as smooth as the iPhone 5 on iOS 6. It was liquidy/buttery/oily goodness.

That's the problem, there's no reason it can't be as smooth. Apple would rather add more features at the expense of performance. Something's Jobs would have never done.

I am very sensitive to stutters and I scrolled through all my messages and didnt see a single stutter.Zero.Maybe its something to do with RAM?iPhone 7 Plus has more RAM than iPhone 7

However there IS stutter at the same location on my iPhone 6

Interesting how statements like that from others in relation iPhone 6s or 6 and iOS 9 were simply wrong or made up or what have you, but now the same statements about iPhone 7 and iOS 10 from some of the same people are supposedly totally believable and others who are noticing thins just must have something weird going on with their devices. How quickly things change and get reversed.

Correct. But this is what Apple's become. There are as much a pop culture company keeping up and pushing forward more now than ever. And it shows in the lack of silky smooth animations etc. But they still do it better than anyone else. So as much as it pains me to see dropped frames....I try to enjoy the products.

I've not seen my 7+ so smooth and rapid since the day i bought it now i'm on PB3

There is one place I do see stutters and that's with scrolling past live video previews in Messages. Can also reliably make it crash when trying to load older messages as well.

Since this the 3rd release, is it likely that 10.1 will see a public release soon?

I see what you are referring to in the list of chats on my 7 Plus. It looks similar to "screen tearing" in video games when the framerate is not locked to the display's refresh rate. I wouldn't call it lag per se, but it does have some impact on the perception of smoothness.
