I can confirm with Beta 3 there still is that horrible shutting apps lag, I give up with Apple, my 7 Plus is a joke

Does a particular process flow need to be followed?Because I just closed it thought the app switcher and it was silky smooth

.... lots others beg to differ (10.0.2 battery life site:discussions.apple.com) and a downgrade fixed the problem and I restored from a backup so it wasn't a problem located in my apps or settings either. Their was clearly an issue. It may not effect everyone but there is a problem with 10.0.2

Agreed. Not for everyone but mine drained overnight without any use. Downgrading quickly resolved it for me.
I'm ok waiting for the final release. After that, I'll just be good and wait for it.

Or people could just stop being morons and shoot video in its proper orientation. Like not allowing you to hit record till the phone is in landscape.
I used to be upset too, but oddly enough, I find certain casual things that people share with me like that just fine. If it's not meant to be a Kubric production, and and I can view it without rotating the phone then it's fine. If it's meant to be casually seen on a "phone" then it's perfectly fine. Charming even.

Guys complaining about "lag" need to understand the difference between actual lag, and implementation bugs. I'm not even sure I would call it a bug. It's 100% obvious to me the "close app" animation to return to home screen has a slight jitter due to the new home button. And I confirmed my suspicions myself. There is now a slight delay to activate the app switcher. If you press the home button again, JUST before the animation jitters, you can catch it and get into the app switcher view. You can even see the system catch itself with the animation, it's weird.

I theorized that Apple implemented a delay into the double click action to accommodate for users adjusting to the feel of the new home button.

It's obvious there isn't "lag." The frame rate of the animation is fine. The actual animation is the problem, it's not animating properly. It's skipping certain frames, and where it skips frames is where the system disables an additional click activating app switcher. But there is no difference in regards to actual performance, it's not like it performs slower due to the jitter in the animation.

There is ZERO lag over here.Havent seen a single stutter in the 3 days I had this phone..I am not exaggerating. Not even one.The infamous mobile data menu also doesn't stutter. In comparison my iPhone 6 is laggy though

I agree. But Apple won't implement lag in the iPhone 7 until the iPhone 8 comes out.Once it does,no doubt stutters (intentional of course) will find their way in
Is that why people are finding iOS 10 to be quite good and better on their iPhone 6s and 6 line of phones?

Seems with every release there are varied opinions of the different things in the release. This release is no different.

Please let me know how in your opinion eg. how a split Control Center is a consciously designed improvement.

They exist? I personally haven't met, read or heard a single one of them. In fact, every 6(S)(+) owner I've spoken to are so fed up with iOS 10 they'd rather downgrade to 9.3.5. The reason they don't is the compatibility issue with their iTunes backup.

It (control center) may not be an improvement but it's not bad either. It's actually less cluttered. I call it even.

Additionally several associates upgraded to iOS 10 on a 6 or 6s. I haven't heard the type of negativity expressed by some here. But as I said, opinions are always varied.

I had zero issues with lag or stutter with my iPhone 6s on 10.0.1, neither did my GF. We both ran every beta from 10B4 and on.

Thanks, looks like I'm not the only one who went back to iOS 9 ;-)

I'm not sure if that's your honest opinion or you're pulling my leg here. There are so many things wrong with the c.c. UI that I don't know where to begin. Like another commenter said, we've come to expect more out of a $1000 phone and a multi-billion company.

Of course not, just like there are plenty of those who are happy or at least satisfied with iOS 10 on their devices.

I don't know if your pulling my leg, since you brought it up. Got that your expectations are different than mine, not higher just different.

According to you, yes.

iPhone 6 is stutter free?zero stutters?I may have forgotten about that post of mine,Can you quote it here?

I have no qualms saying iPhone 7 plus is stutter free but iPhone 6?It never regained its past glory of 8.4.1

Zero or 100% both unattainable in a subjective sense. Nothing man made is perfect.

Well my iPhone 7 plus just achieved the unattainable then.Even the "most used screen of iOS " aka the mobile data menu doesn't stutter

Hoping that my iPhone, which was ordered in the wee hours on preorder day, comes at the same time the public version of 10.1 is released.

November 16 I receive it. My birthday. 2.5 months!

0 lag here on my7 + im on my phone all day ..my wife or 2 sons haven't noticed any "lag"

the 10.1 betas have been flipping great

iPhone 7 plus is the greatest device yet and even with the new beta 10.1 with portrait mode it's fantastic battery life on my old iPhone 6 Plus was amazing even after 2 years and with the 7 plus I can't even manage how improve the battery life will be.

I haven't been following the beta track to much but I downgraded from iOS 10.0.2 to 10.0.1 because of how much my battery tanked. I don't plan on upgrading until I hear they resolved the battery issues with iOS 10.1.... whats the battery like on this and the earlier betas.

My battery percentage has been all over the place. And I saw my wife's percentage jump up 11% just by plugging it in. I think it has simmered down over time, though, but at one point, I got about 3 hours of podcast play when my phone was on 1%... (iPhone 6 Plus)
