The beta agreement makes it very clear that your main device should not be the device you use for testing.

In fact, they put this in big letters right above the developer agreement before you agree to the terms:

Then there's an entire section within the agreement on precautions around the pre-release software.
Please point out where in that statement it says "developer betas agree to install it only on testing devices and not their everyday personal devices. Failure to do so is a violation of the Developer TOS. Highly recommend does not mean required.

DIRECTV NOW still does not work. I assume it is the App but with all the Public Beta Testers you would think AT&T would fix the issue.

You're assuming the current version of the app is what is going to be release with the final version of tvOS and iOS 11. If ATT is building a new platform we may see that in the fall and never see a working version of the current app. Either way this is still a Beta and no app dev is under any timeframe to adjust their apps.

"Should not" is a suggestion, it doesn't state that this is a clear violation of terms. My guess for why they say should not is because a system can easily fail because of the bugs and also provides legal protection for Apple if a business does not listen to these warnings they cannot sue Apple for a bug that caused data to be lost. Even having the Developer Beta installed on a personal device that is not used for testing does not warrant legal action from Apple.

I'm hoping they fixed the Messages issue that prevents sending and receiving SMS messages with non-IOS users. I can't get SMS from a co-worker, and all sms based authentication messages never arrive.

How is Beta 3? Is there any improvement on bugs or battery life? There were a few persistent bugs I noticed like the app switcher not closing all my apps and app crashes but of course that is normal. Were any of those fixed if anyone else saw those bugs? I'm on Public Beta and of course I know there will be problems. If anyone can let me know I would greatly appreciate that.

Thanks!

So does iOS11 completly kill the iPad Air? I feel like with only 1GB of Ram, my Air may not see this update.

Yep lags and freezes made it unusable on the Air (i.e. >10 seconds to turn a page on the Kindle app), I had to bounce back to 10.3.3. Just fine on the IPP though.

I don’t see why everyone is so worked up about ppl putting this beta on their daily devices. That’s up to them. And I believe it is actually beneficial in a way to Apple. More likely to find bugs and report them if you use it on a daily driver. But that’s only my opinion.

With the maybe missing Touch ID. I'm more concerned what retailers and the banks think of any new Security measures than what I think.

Has anybody found a website that allows you to Pay with Applepay yet? Apart from the obvious, Apples own.
Not sure how this is related to iOS 11 beta, but yes a huge amount of websites I use offer Apple Pay on both my MacBook and iPhone

This new seed is much more stable and reliable than beta 2 was, (iPhone 7 Plus), smoother and less noticeable bugs. The only one I have encountered so far has been with smart invert. Still wondering why Apple insists on inverting the colors instead of simply making a dark mode which i imagine would be easier to do and have a much cleaner look to it.

  • App Store apps all download when updates are available, not all-but-one.
  • Pkmn Go still works (ha).
  • Seems a bit slower after first boot, interface-wise. Safari still what I'd call "snappy".
  • Fonts changed in a few places, notably Messages and lock screen.
  • Issues with the Emoji keyboard disappearing randomly in Messages seems to have been resolved.
  • Still can't change the white/black auto-set text color when changing wallpapers.

Does the App Store open on the iPhone 7? It would constantly crash when attempting to open on B1 and B2.

So far I'm pleased with the Developer Beta 3 on my iPhone 7 Plus 256GB, Closing apps using the multi tasking app switcher in Beta 1 and 2 didn't close the app nearly all the time, and I'm pleased that it now closes the apps when swiping up in Beta 3. Also the TV app has been added, this previously wasn't available in the UK. And one of my most used apps, Tomtom that crashed in in Beta 1 and 2 when trying to open it now works fine in Beta 3. It also seems to run a bit smoother in this beta.

Could anyone please possibly provide a side by side of the old and new message screen? I can't see a noticeable change and wondering if I need to do a full restore. Do NOT want to get into that hassle, so if anyone is kind enough... :)

EDIT: Got it. Thank you.
