MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017) - Installed

There was a supplemental update for Final Cut Pro X and the Pro Video Formats that showed up in System Preferences immediately after install.

I have a 13" 2017 MBP. There's hope!

"The bridgeOS update doesn't satisfy the given minimum version requirement." is causing it. MBP 2018 Touch Bar.

The error has something to do with the T1/T2 chips running BridgeOS. Likely will have to wait for fix from Apple and doubting a quick one with holiday on Thursday....

Well...I have a 2017 machine so I'm going to give this a whirl. I have a Time Machine back-up if anything goes wrong...

It's throwing an error for everyone - it's on the dev forums too.

"Keys" above got it installed on a 2017 15" MBP and another poster got it installed on a 2012 Mini. It really looks like it's just affecting 2018 machines.

Yup. Same exact error on my 2018 mini:
Code:
error 11:52:00.053755-0700 softwareupdated Update bundle package component's bridge version (17.16.10466.5.18,0) doesn't satisfy minimum requirement (17.16.10496.5.4,0): 1

Working on 2012 Air, not mini.

Hoping iCloud Drive issues are fixed. Will be installing tonight.

Me too. I’ve been seeing multiple copies of files on iCloud Drive - many of which contain ‘zero bytes’; Notes not syncing.

The iCloud Drive issue *might* have been fixed just looking at it in Beta 3 (although it’s taking an age to ‘upload’ everything that is already there...); Photos has started also ‘uploading’ my existing, synced 65,000 photo Photo Library.

I’m still unable to log into the App Store using the Apple ID I use for purchases (different to my normal/developer Apple ID). So no App Updates for yet another 2-3 weeks. Sigh.

The iOS & Watch (and iPadOS) betas have been pretty stable but Catalina is a mess IMHO.

I am on a 2018 MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and upgraded successfully. I did notice though that all the Security & Privacy exceptions were removed from Accessibility which caused a lot of apps like DropBox, BetterTouchTool, Jump Desktop, and Logitech to get cranky until they were re-approved.

I really have to ask at this point because I can not find anything on Google. Since the Beta one my whole iCloud Drive has been messed up. I now have in Finder under Locations a Cloud icon with iCloud Drive - (data scope) , has this happened to anyone else? I cant find any informations on data scope, what to do with it, or how to delete. It's weird.

Yes, me too, but other than turning off/on syncing I left it alone. The last thing I wanted is for a delete to sync to all my normal devices!

I had two ‘iCloud Drive (Archive)’ folders in my Home directory which didn’t seem to be the same files as those in the ‘iCloud Drive’ folder (well, under the icon in the sidebar). I also wasn’t able to download the files in the iCloud Drive properly - they just had the little download icon and clicking on it did nothing. Also missing was the download/upload progress in the Status bar.

I’ve just installed Beta 3 and it’s now ‘uploading’ 4GB of my iCloud Drive (no idea why as it’s already there... hopefully it’s just checking the contents and ignoring duplicates). I’m off to work soon but will leave it running so fingers crossed it’s not a total disaster when I get home.

It’s been playing havoc with my App files for Xcode. I recently pushed an update to the App Store only to find that the machine running Catalina messed up some of the files. Changes which I thought were there were gone. Ugh...

worked flawlessly on my MacBook Pro 2018 but in the music app there are still most of the album covers missing

Yeah thats a huge bummer.. my iCloud Drive has somehow fixed it self by turning it on and off a few times. But wow did my machine run extremely hot then. But I still having that separate folder and I feel like some of my actual files have been messed up through that. Let's see what Beta 3 and the future releases does. I dont wanna mess with it either.

Ok, let me put it this way: Has ANYONE gotten this to install and if so, on what machine?
I run macOS Catalina on my 27" iMac (Late 2013, 3.4GHz, Geforce 775M 2GB) from 1st Dev beta on an external SSD (fresh installation) and also successfully updated a copy of the live system (macOS Mojave) on the internal drive, what's a self installed 750GB Micron SSD.

Despite the SSD and 32Gigs of RAM, there are no hardware changes to the stock configuration

Three questions about Third Beta of macOS Catalina to Developers:

- Which version-build is it?

- Does it allow to make Time Machine backups into APFS disks?

- Does Music allow resume playback (play a long list of songs, quit, open again and it resumes playback of the latest song previously being played).

It’s always a risk with Development but it’s frustrating. I don’t have (and can’t afford) multiple iPhones/iPads. I have one of each, one MacBook and one iMac. The MacBook is the only one I keep beta free.

In order to test my existing apps with Catalina, I needed to run the betas (I don’t want my users to discover my Apps crash when they update to iOS13). But then to test any updates I need to install XCode 11 & Catalina as XCode 10 won’t install to a device running iOS13... and the simulator can’t simulate everything I need. Then to build them & upload them for the App Store I go back to the MacBook (Mojave & XCode 10) - but iCloud Drive somehow messed things up. Fortunately no major bugs introduced but still a PITA.

When I started to see multiple copies of the same file on my iCloud Drive with numerical suffixes when there should only be one file, I was more than a little concerned.

I note when I go to iCloud.com it redirects to beta.icloud.com - seems like when you run a beta, more than just the installed operating systems change for a given user. Would have been nice to know that.
