Have had to force restart it twice today due to it just crashing. Updating was a bit of a pain.

This update cycle amply demonstrates why there is no Public Beta for WatchOS! Between the Dark Sky trick, the Camera trick, rebooting and re-pairing, I finally got a working Series O again. Holy cow, that was ugly. Goodbye Beta 2, and good riddance!

BTW, I echo the observation on poor phone battery and poor watch battery being linked in Beta 2. My 7 went 100% to dark in less than 3 hours. I almost couldn't believe it, and certainly couldn't test anything as everything was wonky. Hoping Beta 3 is much kinder....

How’d ya fix it? I’ve got nothing over here haha.

Battery life has been restored on my Apple watch after updating to beta 3... From 6am to 2:30pm I am only down to 64%... ON beta 2 I was down to about 25% by now. MUCH Better!! :)

I finally got it to download... it's was "preparing" for over an hour and now its "verifying" for over an hour... any idea how much longer this is going to take?

For those of you who are struggling to get beta 3 installed, keep at it -it's SO worth it.Beta 2 was KILLING my watch battery and today I realized it was hurting the battery life of my iPhone as well. Now today with beta 3 11 hours of use and my watch is at 79%. So it's hard to get rid of beta 2 and go to beta 3, you just have to keep working at it, you 'll get there and it's so worth it.

I’m on a series 0 and battery life is better but certainly not “solved”. I’m using up 10% an hour (waaay better than beta 2) but in the release version, I would normally have 50% left before going to bed.
That's weird, I've had my Series 0 on since 7am and it's now 9:30pm and it's at 36% left. But I also did a un-pair/re-pair on Beta 2 about a week ago which fixed my battery issue on Beta 2.

I’m down to 35% now. Took the watch off the charger about 6am. Still not as it should be but on b2 I was dead by 1pm

I think I know the answer, but is there no way to revert back to watchos 3?
You have to have it shipped to apple.

How long does it take to install this? I started it when I went to bed and when I woke up it was still in the logo screen with the circle almost completed. Once it filled the circle it’s been sitting and doing nothing that I can tell.

Same happened to me. I took it off the charger and did a hard restart and it came back up and completed the circle. Then it went to the Apple logo for a while and eventually came back on.

Update to Beta 3 went without problems, just took forever. Now I notice that the watch will not take my heart rate during the day, with the exception of exercising. Anybody else notice that?

Whoa, the battery life is off the freakin chain maahhhn. For real though it’s really good. It’s lasted 2 days and I’ve got the series1....also, the progress ring hanging at the end of installation happened to me too. Leave it for a while, if you’re certain it’s stuck, just hold the crown and other button in until it restarts, and it should boot up without an issue ! :) oh, and the Toy story watch face makes the battery die in like 2 hours haha.

sorry for cross posting this info that I've already shared in the iOS public beta 2 thread... but this might be useful here also.

I was getting not that great battery life out of my watch with the latest beta and also not great on the iPhone with the latest public beta...
after disabling the music sync withing the Apple Watch app on the iphone, which was added automatically for 3 different playlist with one of the betas, battery went back to normal. Yesterday, at the end of the day, battery was still at +/- 50% on my watch even with a 45 walk training during the day.
Battery on my iphone is not that great, but it's a lot better with this option disabled.
