That's odd, I can swipe back the Safari view controller away in Tweetbot, on iOS 9.1.

So it's already possible.

It isn't implemented in TweetBot, instead they added a hack that replicated this functionality. Apple have now sensibly offered a proper way to do this

Eww app switcher is a bit worse on my mini 2. They did fix the issue with entering the blurred apps though. Spotlight is a tiny bit better, mostly the same.. Opening and closing apps feels quicker and smoother, but that's probably placebo. Control center still meh. Other than that, iOS 9 is great for me. Just drops a lot of frames which is annoying.

My iPad Air 2 indicated another software update after I installed the 1.4 GB update. Updated again, and it now indicates it is up to date with version 9.2 (13C71). That iPad was already enrolled in the Public Beta. Decided to enroll my iPhone 6, updated, and it also said another update was available. The second install resulted in up-to-date status with same version as iPad Air.

Sadly my iPod interface in my car is still not working with the 9.2 Beta's. I had hoped Beta 3 would fix it, but it did not. I already submitted Bug Feedback to Apple for the issue in Beta 1 and 2. I really hope this is fixed by the time it is released. This makes me nervous because if it isn't fixed when 9.2 is released I am going to have to roll back to 9.1 before they stop signing it as this is an important feature for me.

My iPad Air 2 and iPhone 5s did the same.

Just finished installing it on my iPad Air, here are some preliminary observations:

Improvements:
  • App switcher is vastly improved in performance and the animations are smoother than before. Still not iPhone 6S level or 60 FPS smooth, but it's acceptable now in terms of frame rate. However, there's still the occasional stutter from switching between apps or swiping in the app switcher.
Still the same:
  • Spotlight search (both pulling down from home screen and swiping to the left from home screen) is still choppy.
  • Turning on reduce transparency still breaks the visual appearance of the stock iOS virtual keyboard. The keys do not turn darker when you tap on a key, making it hard to determine if a key press was registered at all.
Definitely smoother than iOS 9.1 and any iOS 9.2 betas before it. This is gearing up to be a good update.

The Public Beta was a day behind for awhile, and now the updates seem to be releasing the same day as the developer betas. Thanks, Apple! :D

I have an iPhone 5s on iOS 9.2 public beta 2 and all it says is "Update Requested..."

I have tried doing a hard reboot (holding both home and power buttons down) and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the beta profile.

It has been sitting like this for two hours now, anyone know how to fix it?

I need to find out if my app will work on it before I buy my  developer membership and submit my app for review. Thanks!!!

I would'nt mind battery life since I am using an iPad but they made scrolling on safari even worse. now it's freezing when scrolling up & down and reminds me of old android browsers. I did wrote feedback but apple doesn't read these problematic experience of users. I appeal to other users to confirm this problem if they experience similarities.

No Install issues on either my iPad Air 2 or my 6S+ (both downloads were over a gig) My iPad set up wifi calling for me as soon as i logged in. (Sprint on my iPhone)

iPhone6, 9.2 beta 2.

Updated to beta 3, no problem, a ~150mb OTA update. All seems fine, no update loop, but the feedback app is gone.

Fixed slight animation lags with scrolling and such when I installed it.

1,3 GB on 5s, 1,4 GB on 6s

Ah. Seems like smoothness of the task switcher is proportional to how many apps you have running.
I killed something like 16 app panes and was down to 3 and was much smoother.
When I had 19 running it wasn't as nice.
Par for the course when the phone only has 1 gig of ram.

Swiping down to search isn't as smooth as it could be but it's notably better than it was.
But then, if you do it over and over it seems to smooth out as you do it like it's caching the movement.

I've noticed the same behavior in the task switcher. The difference for me is that I have an iPhone 6s Plus and iPad Air 2, both of which have 2GB of RAM. That's plenty, so what's the deal?

The update has seemed to turn-off the pocket hand warmer feature that, aside for draining my iPhone 6 from full to empty in 3 hours, I was kinda looking forward to for the winter months. ;)

Looks like they fixed the Safari lockup bug when you open multiple links "in background". Can't seem to trigger it any more.

Fingers crossed.

EDIT: Bug reappeared, not fixed. Come on Apple.
