Had the same issue, what fixed it for me was to go to system settings>Network>right click Wifi and click make service active, hope it helps
Thanks, that solved my issue too. It is strange though that it is set inactive as default after the update!

Oh hey, I fixed it. Realised I could right click to set an image as a wallpaper and doing this also made the wallpaper system pref work again.
I just started having that problem (empty Desktop Wallpapers) in Monterey. Unfortunately, your fix didn't work for me. You can see tiny dots in the Colors section as well as all the images in Folders, but not the images themselves.

Updated, I've run public beta since first available.

Spotlight is now just gone. Straight up gone. Just me? M1 Air
Since Monterey we've been experiencing and seeing spotlight issues in tons of machines (most M1 / pros / max & some new M2s also). Stops responding, stops showing specific results or show none at all, starts reindexing all the time out of nothing, etc.

Unreal an iconic functionality like this, which many rely heavily for productivity, gets completely ruined as well.
Funny I had issues with Spotlight(slow and Quick look not working) in Public beta 2 but Public Beta 3 completely solved my spotlight issues.
Spotlight works flawlessly now and the new photo-text based spotlight search is great too.

Whoa, that fixed it for me too! Didn‘t know there was a right klick menu on that setting. Thanks so much for sharing!
@Taurus11 this should fix your problem too.

It's an user issue, new user doesn't have the problem, but I don't know how to fix it. Clearing cache and the "put the whole disk or user folder in exceptions" trick didn't work. Not a huge deal but it's def annoying.

Set cmd+space to launchpad instead so i at least can use it as a launcher. I'll live with this in the mean time instead of starting off with a brand new user.

its bricked my virtual machine! Running parallels version 18 which came out yesterday. This is all I am getting. No disk activity nothing. Thank goodness for 'revert to snapshot'!

Oh, nice - my custom wallpaper is back on the log-in screen. That’s one bug fixed at least xD

I don’t even see the “powerd” process running in Activity Monitor. Should it be there, or is it only if you’re using specific things in macOS?

Well... that was a bit premature. The wallpaper issue remains :(
But the notification delay in Messages seems fixed.

i have no high cpu usage here with the 3rd beta mbp m1 pro 16.2 inch

i do have another problem discord is not starting the first time. it always hangs at the loading screen i have too kill it every time and start it another time anyone else has this or an idea for a fix ?
Report the bug to Discord and Apple!

Anyone having these power saving issues?

  • MBA M1 fails to respond when woken up from sleep, takes a good 5 seconds or more
  • Display goes to sleep on video playback (plugged in)

Has this been pulled? I am running macOS Ventura beta 13.0 22A5311F and it says there is no update.

Edit: Nevermind, it's now showing. Weird.

Well, wifi seems to be broken on my 16“ m1pro. The menu bar icon shows the usual „no internet connection“ but the wifi switch is turned off and grayed out. In settiongs/wifi it shows the wifi switch on like usual and shows to be connected to my wifi and no issues with internet connection. Well, sadly all apps seem to be following the menu bar icon. Wifi works with the ios 16 and ipados 16 betas with no issues.

Anyone else have those issues?

Edit: yes, i turned it off and on again, and then some …

I had exactly the same issue in my MBP i5, solved it by adding an extra WiFi Interface in [Settings][Network] [Add Interface]. Workaround but it works on my end.

My iMac (4K-2017) has been having major issues with public beta 2. Went ahead immediately to get beta 3 as soon as it got available. However, during installation itself, it’s in an endless reboot loop. Keeps giving this error before every restart!
Just for further updates, I had no option but to clean install & reset the mac. I’ve been using an external SSD as primary boot device. For some reason, even after deleting the drive in recovery mode, it was showing Ventura beta as the only OS option to install (though I had bootable disk of Monterey connected). I went ahead with Ventura clean install and everything seems to be working wonderfully now 🧘🏻‍♂️
