Yes you can.

1) Unpair the watch from your phone
2) Dump your phone from iOS 9 to 8.4
3) Restore phone with known watch os backup
4) Re-pair Watch to iOS 8.4 device
5) when it pop ups the backups available - restore the iOS 8 / Watch OS 1.0 backup.

Source; It worked for me.
Yeah you're the only one in the whole world who had this work. Congratulations.

I'm sorry, you're saying restoring a watch 1.0 backup DOWNGRADES the WatchOS to 1.0 (1.0.1)??

Are you sure? I've read many many times that this doesn't work.

WatchOS 2 beta 2 basically made my watch unusable and I haven't worn it since I installed it. It would constantly restart... I have high hopes for this version.

Can't install WatchOS beta 3...

I just installed iOS9 beta 3, downloaded the latest WatchOS profile, installed it, restarted my watch and the WatchOS update doesn't show up.
Has anyone managed to install the WatchOS 2 beta 3? If yes- how???

Hoping this fixes major battery issues, iMessage, Siri responsiveness and music bugginess. Watch was basically a paper weight for past few weeks.

No, I can't even properly check for an update

Was running Watch OS 2 beta and it was such a disaster for me. Tired restoring it the software and only made things worse. Had to go to the apple store and have them send it in for service. Going to cost a bundle. Do not install the beta on Watch OS 2 if you haven't already. Unlike iOS 9 there aren't many new feature that are worth it especially seeing how native 3rd party apps will not be coming out until the public release. Time Lapse watch faces and Night Stand mode are not worth the head ache and hassle. Lost my Activity Streak Data because of the beta and more health data. Best Regards,
don't want more people to regret the beta as much as I did. PS the other betas are more feature rich and more stable. Just be careful.

Has anyone managed to actually get their iPhone to show that there IS a Watch OS 2 Beta 3 available??

Same issue here...
On the "bright" side, iOS9 beta 3 broke a lot of things that were just fine in beta 2... quality of Apple software has decreased so much in the recent years, it's disappointing :(

FYI iOS9 beta 3 is kind of crappy... they introduced new bugs. Now whenever an app starts the zoom in animation is not proper and the app doesn't resize properly initially and then re-adjusts. Also on an iPhone 6 Plus, the home screen landscape function seems quite broken.
Gone are the days when Apple meant high quality. Now it's just a Microsoft with a different logo. Really disappointing.

I don't seem to have this issue on my 6+

It's finally showed up for me...

Hm, I've decided to reboot after your comment and now after the reboot none of these issues reproduces on my end either... that's good! :)
Now let's see when WatchOS 2 beta 3 shows up.

Also, there's a new app in iOS9 beta 3 - "News". That one is pretty nice.

Ugh, I can't stand it when people say that. It hasn't decreased... Its just that as you get into more lines of code, the more bugs will appear. It's the whole point of a BETA. For you to test it and tell them the bugs. You try making a Mobile OS and I guarantee you there will be bugs, if you can even do it at all. So no, the quality of their software hasn't decreased, it's just matured. In all essence, I like iOS 8. It's one of the most updates they've ever had. And that's because of the betas and the feedback. And iOS 9 will be even better. So will watchOS 2. That's why they specifically say not to install on a device that is used daily. If you're gonna complain, go get a new iPhone and new AppleWatch and install that stuff on there. It's not a big deal.

So if you go to a doctor and he/she misdiagnoses you, would you say that the quality of medical care has matured because we know more diseases now, hence it's OK to be misdiagnosed?

Apple has > $400 billion in their pockets. There is no excuse for rookie mistakes like that. They can hire all the talent in the world if they wanted to, to make sure major mistakes don't happen, yet major mistakes continue to happen.

Like I said, you go build one and we'll see.

Downloaded the 2GB iOS update in 4 minutes - 45 minutes to get the 218MB watch update. CDN balancing needs some, well, balancing.

Awesome! Glad for ya. Bugs drive me insane so I feel the pain.

Yes, but never in the history of the universe has anyone expected a BETA to be polished software. This is why it's not available to the general public. It's not even a public beta yet. The purpose for THESE beta builds are so that DEVELOPERS (like me) can start building apps for the new SDKs and report bugs to Apple. They're not for a bunch of whiney early adopter users to complain about Apple's software quality.
