You said Mac sales "continue to fall"

I showed you they aren't.

Apple publishes their sales figures on the public internet. You could have looked yourself. Lately... Macs sales have been up YOY.

That's the opposite of falling.

I don't work for Apple. But even if I did... that's not exactly an insult.

A reply within minutes. Typical PR dep. behavior. You weren't even logged on, but then suddenly appear.

It is an insult if one is a PR/marketing shill.

So would you admit to the ridiculousness of soldered RAM in all Mac's (especially the Mini) and join in the criticizing of Tim Cook and his pathetic downgrade refreshes, shell-game pricing schemes, and unnecessary profit margin/cost cutting design decisions? Oh no, to do so may lead one to lose his job.

BTW, always be sure to throw in that Apple praise at the end, as instructed.

Please explain your quote "Mac sales will continue to fall"

You may be surprised that Mac sales were up in the April 2015 quarter... and in the Holiday 2014 quarter as well.

There is no "continuing to fall" if the previous quarters were up.

YOUR MAC SALES STATEMENT IS THE WHOLE REASON I REPLIED TO YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE

If you had said "Mac sales will be down in the July quarter" that would have made sense.

But you said "Mac sales will continue to fall" which doesn't make sense since Mac sales have actually been growing lately.

Thanks for confirming the obvious and making it transparent for all to see.

And way to conveniently avoid the counterpoints, while hammering on your PR agenda, again.

Can't answer this without getting fired, huh?

Why do you guys make it so obvious? I see you, once again, included the Apple praise at the end (and beginning this time, too) as the PR department instructs you to do. You're so used to doing it, you probably don't even realize you're doing it and what a dead giveaway it is. You would think they would instruct you to at least make it a little less obvious and attempt to hide the fact.

You must be confusing praise with facts.

When I say "Mac sales are going up"... that's not praise. It's something that is actually happening. Go look it up.

But when you say "Macs sales continue to fall"... that is a nonsensical statement since Macs have been growing year over year... not shrinking.

I honestly don't have an opinion about soldered RAM. That wasn't the reason I replied to you initially. I know most Mac laptops and some iMacs have soldered RAM... and I still don't care.

Your Macs sales comment is what I was focused on.

And you have yet to explain "Macs sales continue to fall.

BTW, in case it's not clear, the confirming the obvious and making it transparent for all to see (I mentioned in the previous post ), is the fact that you are promoting the Apple PR/marketing department agenda of trying to subvert any legitimate Apple criticism, while simultaneously giving undue Apple praise at every moment.

You can't even criticize the obvious legitimate criticisms, such as soldered RAM in the Mini, for fear of being let go from your Apple PR department position.

Do you think soldered memory in the Mac Mini is a good thing?

If you answer no, you'll likely get fired. If you answer yes, and try to spin and rationalize it into being a good thing, you'll make it unquestionably obvious who you work for. So, as you've already done, you'll just ignore, try to deflect, and hope the question goes away.

you're using "you're a shill" as a defense mechanism.. most of your posts have been in that vain even though you know damn well he's not being paid to be here.

dude isn't defending apple.. he's on the offensive and attacking you and your flimsy arguments.. and the more you fall back on stupid crap like 'oh.. oh.. pr dept instructions' etc-- the further into the abyss you slide.

I really wish people would just put their money where their mouth is and buy the computers that actually meet their needs, even if those computers are Windows computers. Build your own Windows desktop and have exactly the computer you want, instead of waiting for Apple to build it for you.

Don't worry, a lot of us have. As I'm typing this, I have a 2008 Mac Pro sitting next to me that's waiting to be sold off to some schmuck while I type this on a Hackintosh that uses components that are superior to any desktop Mac, are 2X as fast if not more and cost half the price.

I got friggin' tired of Apple's walled garden crap. No more of this. I'm out. But even OS X is being iPadified slowly, so who knows how much longer I can tolerate apple's disrespect towards prosumers.

Oh, I see you replied while I was typing my post #155. And, as predicted in my post #155 you will not answer the question about soldered RAM. And as predicted you just give some pathetic excuse for not answering. Saying, "I honestly don't have an opinion about soldered RAM" and "I don't care". Well, we know who you work for.

As I said in post #149:

No one, other than a biased Apple PR/marketing employee, would actually defend and try and justify the nonsensical policy of incorporating soldered RAM in all Apple computers.

You "don't have an opinion about soldered RAM" and "don't care"?! Absolutely laughable.

Did Michael Scrip call you for help? You two, and many others, are online 24/7 praising Apple and defending ridiculous nonsense. You really think people aren't aware of what's going on? You're just praising Apple and defending indefensible Apple corporate decisions, for hours a day, for the fun of it? People don't do what you do unless their getting paid to do so. It's obvious to many readers.

I don't work for Apple. So the more you keep saying it... the more silly you look :)

But I'll talk about soldered RAM as soon as you explain your statement "Mac sales will continue to fall"

Deal?

But here's a hint... sales have to actually be falling for them to continue to fall...

no.. i work for him. i'm his shill

lol.. you're just making **** up, listening to yourself say it, then believing it since you heard someone(yourself) say it..
everything you just typed is false and provable beyond any doubt to be false.. but you think it's true.
awesome stuff.. let's hear some more.

Good, I'm glad you've found something that works better for you.

That said, I hope you're more respectful to the future buyer of your Mac Pro to their face than you are here.

You dislike Apple waaaaaay more than Michael Scrip and others like Apple.

I mean, if you're really so bent out of shape about Apple's decisions that you attack people simply because they're not pissed off at Apple, why are you buying any Apple products and hanging out in forums dedicated to the company?

No, I'm pointing out the pathetic Apple PR/marketing department excuses and apologetics. Pretty pathetic misinterpretation and strawman attempt on your part.

why are you buying any Apple products and hanging out in forums dedicated to the company?

I've already answered that ridiculous, ill-thought-out question.

Real classy of Apple to treat prosumers with soldered RAM while charging $3,000 dollars for a computer.

Nobody seems to have an issue with that disgusting practice.
i don't know about how they treat prosumers (or what that means exactly).. i'm a professional.. designer/builder.
9.5hrs in cad & rendering today with 16GB ram.. 0MB swap used.. zero

what the heck are you doing with your computers? what software do you use? why do you need so much RAM? (as in- these are real questions)

I'm predicting that El Capitan and the iPad Pro will be released on the same day, because the former will be the operating system of the later.

We might also see the first refresh for the MacBook, with it switching from Intel to ARM.

This isn't wild, random speculation. Apple is definitely gearing up for an architecture switch. They've asked developers to stop sending in architecture specific binaries to the Mac App Store. They now want an intermediate format from which they can make the app available for any architecture. This means on any day they could announce an ARM Mac available immediately with thousands of apps available on the Mac App Store for it.

Actually, Apple's only mentioned Bitcode for watchOS, where it's required, and iOS, where it's recommended and enabled by default. OS X was not mentioned, but it's available in Xcode for OS X apps if you manually enable it in Build Settings.

And no, OS X will not run on the larger iPad this time around. Period. The references to the bigger iPad are found in iOS 9.0, not OS X 10.11.

Is this a serious question? Because if it is, are you being deliberately ignorant?

If not, then this is another classic example of the members on Macrumors, or Apple users in general being very arrogant.

'This is how I work, therefor it must apply to everyone'

I see this logic ALL THE TIME on Macrumors and it's getting borderline offensive, I'm sick of it.

So what if 16gb of ram is enough for you. Do you really think that there aren't greater demands for RAM outside of CAD? This is exactly the same as many members DENYING others the ability to have an OPTION of changing the green buttons behaviour in OS X so that it makes windows maximize instead of going full screen (see here).

Since I'm seeing this logic ALL the time and I'm catching you red handed:

WHY do you assume that your work habits are to apply to everyone? What makes you think consumer demands end with YOU?

To answer your question as to what I'm doing on my computer that makes me exceed 16gb:
Running Photoshop, Illustrator and Indesign on a daily basis with multiple documents open within each. My forte is graphic design but where I work also requires me to do web (Coda, Dreamweaver, Transmit, Chrome, Firefox & Safari), photography (Lightroom, Xee, Bridge) and video production (After Effects, VLC, Quicktime, Handbrake). At all times I have MS Outlook open and alternate between Vox and iTunes for music (prefer Vox as it uses less memory). Outside of those apps, I still often run MS Word & Excel. I work for a magazine being in charge of all the front end web development and social media, but since I'm most experience in graphic design and print, they have me creating print materials as well. I do this at home as well as a freelancer for extra cash on the side.

16gb? I can chew that up easily especially if I start any work in After Effects... and I don't even do heavy work in that. Thank god for my 32gb of RAM in my hackintosh build. Too bad that my work MacBook Pro doesn't support more than 16gb. I used to run on only 8gb and it drove me insane.

i don't.. i asked you three direct questions in order to get an idea of your work habits.. and you responded with more than enough words to answer the questions but managed to dodge them entirely.
you saw those questions, right?

You're telling me that I'm using a strawman argument, and you're *still* insisting that the people that disagree with you are Apple employees? Why can't you just accept that other people feel differently about things than you do?

The first thing I see is you telling someone that they're the "bend over and take it" type because again, they're not pissed off about something that you are. I do see that you mentioned something about constructive criticism, but what you're saying around here is far from constructive.

The reason why most people aren't as angry as you are is because they know that they have options if Apple doesn't meet their needs. When I'm in the market for a new computer, if Apple doesn't have anything that meets my needs at the price I'm looking for, I'll shrug my shoulders and buy a Windows machine. But if you feel strongly enough Apple to make your voice heard, that's cool too. Just know that nobody is going to take you seriously if you keep implying that everyone you disagree with is an Apple PR person.

You know why people are adamant about certain things with Apple?

It's because the software, OS X, is amazing but it's completely **** on with gimped hardware and inflated prices. People have a right to voice this, and SHOULD if Apple is to be taken seriously. I've already given Apple the finger by building a Hackintosh. No plans to go back until Apple actually owns up to a time when it said it believed in 'CHOICE' (said by Steve Jobs at the 1997 Macworld Expo). Time's have changed and Apple has been screwing with it's prosumers. We're getting fed up.

Again, it's all a matter of opinion. Some people think OS X is a waste of disk space, and buy Macs simply to run Windows because they like the hardware.

That said, I understand your concerns, and indeed the prosumer is a secondary kind of consumer for Apple in this day and age. But PCs have always been better for people that want powerful hardware at a good price, and always will be. I honestly think you'll be going the Hackintosh route for a while if you're waiting for Apple to significantly shake things up on that front.

Windows 10 is great, thankfully. Have you given it a try yet?

You clearly do though if you think 16gb is enough for everyone. I also answered your questions anyway proving you dead wrong.

i think 16gb is good enough for most everyone.. as in perfectly fine. especially with compressed memory.. people that actually need more ram buy more ram.. but i bet most additional ram purchases sit unused.. very few people are using disk for memory on newer osx versions.

regarding your edit/answering those questions.. i don't know man.. you're making it sound as if you do all this crazy work for this company including photo editing & video production (amongst spreadsheets, word processing, etcetc).. and they give you a laptop for this?? really?
either you're self-aggrandizing / lying or they're idiots.. why don't they have you on a mac pro? seems perfect for that type of stuff and you can shove all sorts of ram in there.

I think it is clear who is getting paid and it is likely aront. This is also a classic technique, accuse the others of what is true for yourself.
