I have a FAN discount as well. My college offered one to us.

Just to double check, I've called them twice now and AT&T has assured me that there would be no issues upgrading to iPhone 4.

I also now remember that I had absolutely no issues upgrading to 3GS last summer. :)

At AT&T or Apple Store?

Thanks, but what about this from ATT. According to that I would be eligible for an early upgrade?

So from that flyer, it appears anyone who has an existing iPhone and not eligible for the $199/$299 pricing would be eligible for the $399/$499 pricing? I read that would be the case, but can't find a definitive answer, even after calling AT&T.

i just received this email from apple! awesome!

Dear Apple Store Customer,

You recently received a Shipment Notification email from Apple advising you that your iPhone has shipped.

This email is to confirm that your delivery will occur on June 23rd. Although Apple and FedEx tracking information may currently indicate a later date, you can check the FedEx website the morning of the June 23rd to track your package to your doorstep.

In the event that you will not be available to accept delivery on June 23rd, it may be more convenient to use our pre-sign delivery option by visiting our Order Status website at http://www.apple.com/orderstatus.

Sincerely,

The Apple Store Team

My email looked a bit different....

I'd hope that after all these years they get their shi$ worked out. Pretty pathetic if they still can't process FAN accounts.

Will suck, but i will also cancel it inline as well, problem is is that i dont work for that company anymore.. but just found that my new one does offer it as well, just not as big a discount. Thats fine with me so long as i get my phone on the 24th!!:D

So lets hope they got there ***** together so everyone can keep it as is!!

yes. this is FOR SURE. anyone who has an iphone can upgrade for the extra $200 pricing. even if you just bought a 3GS as a 2 year price 3 months ago. this only applies if you have an iphone. if you just upgraded to anything other than an iphone in the last year then you won't qualify.

Then someone needs to clarify that with AT&T and the Apple Store folks, because I made it quite clear that I pay my own cell phone bill but receive a service discount through my employer and was told I needed to go through AT&T. Perhaps it depends on the size of the company. Mine is a school district that employs several thousands of people. Fortunately, I didn't take a chance and pre-ordered mine through an AT&T store.

there isn't an issue anymore with FAN numbers. i worked for att during the first iphone launch, and there was a restriction that business accounts couldn't have iphones, so if you were a business account, or had a FAN (which is a form of business account) then you could not get an iphone.

this has since been changed and business accounts can have iphones, thus FANs aren't a problem.

Me, too. YAY!
We should be able to activate them on the 23'rd, right?
I don't see why not. This should alleviate the activation crush on the 24th.

Exactly like mine

@ttftw - I got the same message as you did, including delivery on the 23rd. It's in Apple and AT&T's best interest to spread the pre-ordered iPhone activations across the longest possible period, to manage the load on their servers. Might make the in-store experience more pleasant on the 24th...

Always said "Delivery on the 23rd"

I too just received this email. Very bizarre!

I didn't believe it. The Apple order tracking page said "Delivers on the 23rd" and the FedEx tracking page has always said "Estimated delivery Jun 23, 2010 by 10:30 AM."

And I just got the Apple email re: delivery on the 23rd. I'm starting to believe it now.

So I reserved a 16gb iPhone 4 and it's all set for my local store. Would it be possible to; pick up the iPhone at an unsubsidized cost? Like pay the 599 and just go contract free? The problem is, the reservation confirmation is for a 199 subsidized phone. Will this work?

Got my e-mail this AM that it'll be delivered the 23rd. This coincides with the shipping notice and tracking data.

YAY!

Does anybody know what time the phones that don't get picked up by people who have reservations get released to walk in customers?

I'm thinking that if people did both delivery and pre-order for pickup at the store, they won't need their reserved phone. I'm thinking that the supply for walk-in customers will be limited and gone early in the morning, but if their is a later time they release the reserved ones, I might have a shot :)

It clearly states that you can get it anytime the store is open on Thursday. They are holding the product for you for that one day. If Friday rolls around they are going to sell it, though.

Perfect. I only ask because I heard rumors it will still be first come first served even for people that are reserved. So with the non reservation line, how do they know what to give them if they can get there 7 and I can get there whenever I want? Whatever is in surplus, if they know that say 500 people will be there for rsvps and they have 600 phones, the first 100 can get the phones?

I guess I just answered my own question....

Reservation confirmed but no email received

My situation seems to be similar to quite a few others. I logged in the morning of the 15th at 4amCT and reserved a phone. Never got the email that they said I would. I too called the local Apple store and they did not have a reservation for me. What I did do was take a screen shot of the confirmation and I also have the history url. The rep said to print it and bring it in and to stand in the reserved line. For some reason, I'm not having a whole lot of faith in their answer. Any advice?

Get out of here with your shipping info! This is just for Reservations for pick up!

I haven't received my reminder email, so I'm going to call the store and see what's up. I have the original email from the 15th and also the App shows the reservation.

EDIT: Called local store and confirmed all is set. They said that they're holding reservations till 9PM at COB.

maybe dumb question?

hello...

i have not heard exactly what the process is tommorow (iPhone 4 lauch)

* We have several AT&T numbers and I reserved a phone for pickup
based on an exsisting number we have with AT&T

Question:

Is Apple taking the phone in exchange for the new one? or are we able to keep the old phone?

Thanks,
Mike T
