The press are going to be the ones reporting about it on their websites which the consumers are then going to read.
I know, sorry, I was being a bit snarky. What does it matter if the press sees something and reports on it, if it is irrelevant to the people who would be buying it?
This is obviously the right way to go - if a little bit to late. Everything will eventually be dominated by services. Talk to people arround you or look at Apples earnings rapport. This is the future wether you like it or not.
Well, until it isn't anymore. I've been around long enough to see how these industry fads work, and everyone get excited about... 'the future is XYZ' until it isn't anymore. Apple is getting into this just about the time I think people are starting get services/subscription-fatigue.
They 'cut the cord' to supposedly save money, and now are spending way more for their stack of connectivity and services. And, they are starting to figure that out.
I genuinly don't understand the push for paid news. ... Why would anyone want to pay for news? It's beyond me & certainly not the way forward for the media.
Maybe if we actually paid some real journalists, and were willing to pay for the work they do to deliver information to us, we'd not have to put up with so much fake news, sensationalized headlines, and ad-driven content. When the news is 'free' (aka. ad-funded) guess who controls what the message of the news is?
That said, yeah, I think the MSM is so completely messed up, they don't even know which way is up anymore. Real news outlets are starting to head for a value-for-value funding model.
That's why we have choices.
Not everyone is going to enjoy family-friendly shows, just as not everyone necessarily enjoys shows like 24.
I wonder if Apple is trying to cast as wide a net as they can with content that has a larger appeal, especially if Apple intends to make them freely available in the TV app (which means it needs to be safe for anyone with an iOS device or Mac, including children). Plus, these would be shows that they are able to screen in their own Apple Stores, unlike more edgy content like say, Game of Thrones, which would be subject to more restrictions.
Just remember that ideas have consequences, and ideas can be much more dangerous than graphic content. A G-rated show could contain ideas that would have a much more negative impact than R or M content with a proper worldview.
I say this as Apple can exclude all the edgy or even mature content they want, but that doesn't mean the shows are family-friendly.
Incredible. "The relatively new product I bought recently already doesn't work properly anymore, I can't wait to buy the next generation."
Planned obsolescence really works wonders.
It's just the reality tiny batteries in tiny devices... which is why I don't plan on spending a couple-hundred of my hard earned dollars on something so disposable. But, otherwise, I was thinking kind of the same thing.
