Prolly TV/streaming subscription app. Not expecting much from this event- subscription services. Updated mini with for visual changes. AirPods wireless chaging case. Anything more would be a huge surprise. To be honest, not sure even if these small updates are happening
Yeah so far the word has been that it'll just be all services and software. Not surprising since it's still early in the year and that was pretty much all they focused on at their event this time a year ago, with the exception of the update to the standard iPad they announced.

Will probably go something like, "So that's our new streaming service! But you'll want a good device that's up to the task... Here's the 'new' iPad and iPad mini!"

It's pretty darn obvious they have reached a deal to acquire Showtime!
I've seen this joke being made quite a bit, but I honestly would find it rather amusing if Apple did announce that they had bought Showtime. Either by way of coincidence or because they actually did intend for everyone to make that joke just so they could come out and be like, "We bought this little cable TV network, perhaps you've heard of them.."

It's worth mentioning I don't think they'll really do that, just having some fun with the prospect of it. But who knows, it's Apple after all, so we shall see!

Apple News is awesome, especially now that I've figured out how to block certain news sources like E! and BGR. I just wish I didn't have to use the desktop app to block them.

The only truly annoying thing is that there seems to be no way to get a straight http:// link to share with people who don't use Apple products. Not surprising, but annoying af.
Just copy the article and send them the link. It will still work for them

I hope they release new AirPods. Only getting 2 hours on a charge now. Need some new ones soon. Air power I’ll get it when I get it. If it ever comes out.

I wish mine lasted 2 hours now. My right one which I use more frequently can't last for a 1 hour meeting nowadays. My left is probably a little over an hour.

You missed a likely fourth- increased water resistance. And a fifth- latest Bluetooth and perhaps W-2. And to suggest that Apple is many years away from putting health features in AirPods is undoubtedly wrong, if Apple intends to put in health features at all. Maybe not this year, but health and peripherals are both incredibly important to Apple, and they are putting in enormous resources.

If there is a health feature, they will demo. Whether the above "big four" is enough to put in a demo depends on the context of the particular event. Again, peripherals are now critical to Apple's future and the AirPods a huge hit, so just like the "s" version of the iPhone, may merit a few minutes on stage to stoke demand even further. Black AirPods alone will be a huge hit to get people rushing out to buy.

True on water resistance, that would be welcomed. Also W2 and new standards is a good upgrade but I don't see any of those as demoable. Does the current airpod support multiple devices?

I really doubt that Apple imagines the airpod as a health gadget. It is clearly inferior to the watch.
Worse battery life
Not always on
Placement
Size

No doubt it will be huge hit. Granted that a black version is very likely.

This keynote is essentially one huge press statement where Apple can tell their story to the press directly.

It’s not meant for you, the average consumer.
Lol, so they hope they’ll sell their vapor ware to the press? They want as much as coverage they can get at it’s definitely directed at you, the goose with the golden eggs. :D:D:D
[doublepost=1552414790][/doublepost]
The press are going to be the ones reporting about it on their websites which the consumers are then going to read.
So they could easily skip the livestream by your thinking. Apple wants to control the statement and delivery to their golden geese. If they’re dependent on what other press would state, lol. Read the Apple news sites from other journalists. It’s not all gold over there what shines. No AMAZING stories to read

Hulu and Spotify today pretty much gave the middle finger to Apple. For $9.99 I get no ads spotify and Hulu(which has ads but if its free I can't complain.

Out of all the markets Apple has gone for, usually I can see why they might try, but this just isn't anything anyone wanted. Apple is amazing at making things we view content from but anytime they have tried their hand in producing content has failed and no one is asking for it. Hulu pretty much today actually has already blown anything Apple will do with a tv service. As of today if you have a Spotify premium account you get a hulu account as well. Basically both Spotify and Hulu said see if you can have this much content for 9.99 a month. Im presuming Apple tv service wont have near as much content as hulu and Apple Music vs Spotify doesn't even compare either
Yup, but sure they are banking on users in their ecosystem. This is just easy add on revenue for them anyway. Not much infrastructure or effort required to deliver.

True but they have never put the Apple brand on something that could, and not saying is, be a huge failure and embarrassing and tarnish Apple brand. Music industry made since because of iPod, movies and tv downloads made since to keep people to a mac or iPhone or ipad to watch where they already had one or the other but a play into producing media is for what, there is no clear product line that it is geared to to help unless you now have to pay 99 dollars for a new apple tv that can only run this new service to your tv For some reason I feel like this is only because of the beats buy out and eddy cue and Dr. Dre Jimmy Iovine really had nothing to do so why not throw crap and see where it might stick

I'm so jealous, your day seems to have significantly more hours than mine.

I get a month of Netflix every now and then, maybe three months a year.

Some people manage to have a life, social contacts, a hobby, a job, a pet, and still somehow squeeze in a couple hundred hours of television a year.

Well, in many ways you are right. There is way more content than I need or use. The problem is that there are times when I really want to watch the news, debates, town halls, CSPAN, NPR, major sporting events, and they are just not covered by Netflix or Amazon Prime. When we cut the cable, it saved big $$ from our monthly bill.

BTW - I didn't even realize that Amazon Prime had free movies and shows. We got it as a family for the free shipping etc, since we have a couple of adult children on the opposite coast. The movies and shows were just a bonus/surprise.

Apple launching a tv service really feels like the sort of thing that Microsoft did in the 90s with MSN TV.

And it has the same stench to it as Microsoft in their heyday, where when they felt that windows’ growth was slowing, they rolled over to crush any other easily accessible adjacent industries.

This just has a bad taste about it already.

EDIT: and the worst thing about it is that it practically screams ‘we’re all out of new ideas!’

More free storage, no more crappy little phone chargers, a photo app that is as good as Google's, and an iCloud that is actually, you know, cloud storage. When my iPhone is loaded with Google apps that do a better job than Apple's native apps, I wonder why they aren't working on those issues. I've got cable, Netflix, and AmazonPrime. Enough subscriptions already.

This ship may have sailed already. Horse left the barn...etc
I prefer Tim Apple.

Yeah, I think more will be excited than “disappointed”. We already know who will be disappointed so we’ll count them out now. There will be some undecideds and probably a bunch that will order the AirPods and air power.
I will order AirPods and air power and hopefully some of the subscription services will be available in the Uk. We do all of our viewing on an Apple TV. We have cable but only because it’s the same provider of the internet and cancelling would only save us £3 a month but we never turn the box on.

Why are people so adamant that this TV service will be politically correct left wing nonsense?
Apple hasn’t been censoring Apple Music to fit their public image so why just assume this will be the same?

Gawd I miss the days when self-entitled whiners were fewer in number here.
Let me paraphrase "I'm ****** that I'm not getting something aimed exactly at me every two months at the price that I can afford to blow my money on. Instead they keep releasing services and stuff that doesn't fit the description of what I want and when I want it. So I'm angry. Angry as. So I'm going to moan and and belittle the products and complain that the leadership isn't filling my hand with life changing products that I am expecting to fulfill the emptiness of my soul, at a price I can afford".
is not that at all
but maybe if apple will be doing this right maybe you won't see many "whiners" here
the reason why there are so many now like you said is because they are aware of what's going on
while you still live on denial and you play an apple lawyer defending them
sorry man but that is a lost cause or a lost case

there is a big difference between complaining for just complaining and there is a totally different story to point out something that is completely wrong

that is not complaining, but is you want to call it that, no problem
I'm "complaining" for a reason, that is what many users failed to realized

if you are happy with the direction apple is taking and you are happy with the leadership. no problem

I'm no forcing to agreed or to think like me, I respect your opinion
why can't you respect mine?

what I found very funny is the comment that people can't afford stuff
I have more 20,000 worth in technology in my house
my hackintosh costed 8,000 US dollars, just the tower alone
this is not about what I can't afford, this is about not being ripped off with old hardware at a ridiculous price
I can paid the money but I don't think the hardware is worth the price
so I build something much better, much faster that can run circles with anything that apple has to offer today
that is being smart and not throwing your money away
just because you like a brand, I like apple but I'm not going to pay the price they are asking for

so your complaining and can't afford comment goes out the windows

if someone is selling a car for 10,000 and you have the money to buy it
but you know the car is not worth that amount of money
is not that you didn't bought the car because you can afford it
is that you know the car is not worth that price
but if you come out with something good that is worth that amount of money
then the person who has the money won't hesitate to buy
because they know is worth it "a good deal"

I don't give my money away for nothing in return
I give my money when I get a good deal and something good in return

let's just be fair

regards

yes you are right
let's just wait until the event is over
then maybe they won't be angry anymore
but maybe they might be disappointed
really hope I'm wrong

putting the jokes aside
I be waiting for years for a new Mac Pro

have you ever consider that they might have a right to be upset
because of what apple been doing lately

I don’t think you’ll get your Mac Pro at this event. Apple typically doesn’t release macs in March.

I know and I agreed with you, I was hoping for at least some news but I don't think we will get any news either
I honestly don' know what to expect from them
probably the glasses

I will be very interesting to see what they have to say or what they have to show or offer

regards

Will Apple finally announce a good desktop computer that doesn't destroy your bank account?

No, Apple will never release a desktop Mac that can compete with your Hackintosh. You just have to accept that the 2009 Mac Pro was the last desktop Mac you bought.

Instead of reading nearly every MacRumors article and only posting negative comments about Apple, you should plan for your eventual migration to Windows or Linux, since there will be a time when macOS will not support your 2015 Hackintosh.

Isn't 4+ years of negative commenting enough ?

WHATs wrong with a sustainable business and loyal buyers. Even if i buy every ten years a resonably priced deviced. I mean more devices it should be fine for any company to be sucessfully.
Its a recent misinterpretation that You have to buy every year or 3 years - even with phones its not really true / its just a crazy market bubble.

Companies tend to focus on customer groups and product groups that make the most revenue/profit and/or has the most potential for growth. Frugal customers are never good customers.

A lot of the disgruntled people here wants Apple to create a cheap desktop Mac, and then they will spend all additional money on third parties to upgrade that Mac.

Basically they are asking Apple to create a product for them which allows them to give Apple has little money as possible. Why would Apple do that?

Exactly. Apple is a business that is run by people who sell products for a profit and not your friend who is looking out for your best interests. They sell expensive products that sometimes have great value for certain people.
