Will the anti-spoiler-free trolls please S T F U and G T F O

Some of us have come to a thread very much like this one for a decade to while away the time until we can experience the events as close to first-hand as possible, having a little fun whilst we do.

You may not understand our wish to block out the media's interpretations and stilted, filtered, live-blogging (and not encourage people at the events to do so), just as we don't understand your impatience and lack of appreciation for fidelity. But if you could please respect it.

Ultimately, we don't care what you think about us. Almost every time it is someone with a similar attitude that attempts to spoil it for the rest of us. If you're not interested, feel free to start a thread about that; it's irrelevant here.

I'm in two minds. I usually watch a live blog with some British chap (forgot his name, sorry dude!) and he provides some insightful information, and then watch the keynote over again. Has the same effect. Spine tingling goodness!!

if this is indeed true, looks like people might be more willing to tune into this Forum than before...

Yea, and the 'innovation' he was talking about involved sticking fairly standard pc components into a black tube that kinda looks like a trash can. Wow, maybe their next innovation will be sticking standard pc components into something shaped like a starfish! Then, maybe something shaped like a human head! At this rate, the 'innovations' at Apple may know no bounds!!!

Whoa, you already don't like something before it's even been released. Give them a chance; the final product may knock your socks off.

Thanks for this, I don't think I'll be able to follow any live blogs so this is perfect :)

On average, when is the recorded video uploaded and available for viewing?

I'm in AU so will be getting up about 21:00 (UTC), which is terrible timing... too late for the live stream and (I suspect) too early for the recorded video.

One of the better things about being in Hong Kong is that it can be incredibly easy to avoid Apple related news -- especially in the hours after an event -- since the Keynotes are held at 1 or 2am.

I am able to wake up in the morning and odds are the video should be posted and ready to view (at least that was the case for WWDC). Thankfully, I am still on summer holiday so I don't have to work :D

[MOD NOTE]
Enough with the off topic movie stuff. Stay on topic.

Isn't this the place to basically talk about whatever we want to help the time pass until the keynote is posted? I've been in every one of these for the past couple years, and they always derail pretty quickly.

Jeez.Worried about Spoilers?
Is the average age here 12 or what ???

Spoiler alert: "Soylent Green is People!"

Im in HK timezone as well, As far as i heard Apple keynotes are uploaded 15-20hours after the keynote. So im hoping it comes up around 3pm-4pm, just nice when im back home

Except unfortunately I'm in school during the keynote... :/ Apple Keynotes should be national holidays :D.

Extra holidays are good, but this motion was solidly defeated by the MAGS alliance.

(that's Microsoft-Android-Google-Samsung, who insisted on, but were refused, their own keynote holidays, upon which Ballmer immediately tendered his resignation.) ;)

Hehe, but complaining about being in school?? I'm in Australia and do you know what time I have to wake up to watch it? (If there is a live stream) 3AM!!!!!!!!!
So do you know what I will be doing at 3 am? Watching the keynote. #DedicatedCultMember hehe :3

I wonder if Apple is simplifying their product line with the iPhone 5C... Right now the carriers sell three iPhone generations: the 4, 4S, and 5. Obviously the new flagship will be the 5S, but I'm thinking the 5C will replace all previous generations as the new low-end option, leaving only two generations to be sold. If the 5C really comes in at $400 (contract-free), then it would be at the "free with contract" price point, so why keep anything less expensive in the lineup?

Then they would only manufacture 2 generations of phones, both standardized on the new taller aspect ratio, Lightning connector, and LTE. I would expect they'll only offer the 5C in one storage capacity. That would reduce the total number of SKUs that they have to manage, which would make it easier to manage all the new SKUs with the various new color options.

I'm thinking that managing essentially two different models (5S and 5C), even in numerous colors, would be easier to manage, since the internals for a given model are the same, and it's just the housings that you have to make differently (even then, it's the same part, just different color). Managing three different generations means there are hundreds of internal parts you have to manage separately, all the different chips and circuits and switches and cables that are different between generations.

This is true and hopefully what they will do, though I'm just afraid that people who are not very tech savy will get confused and angry.. We shall wait and see eh? :)

It can't be as bad as Nintendo can't it? What with their 3DS/2DS naming scheme and the layman confusing the Wii U as being the same as the Wii...

That may very well be true. Just from what I noticed from the last few Apple Events, is that the video had been posted shortly after I arrived at work and I watched it there in the morning. I am pretty sure that was the case with WWDC. I seem to remember watching it on the MTR then finishing it when I got to my office.

As far as I can remember, in about 2 - 3 hours after the event, if not sooner.
Anyone here remember how it was last time (WWDC or earlier event)? Thanks.

I do hope Apple will make a last minute announcement of a live stream; it will surely make us all happy! :D
Considering the purpose of the event, it does make a lot of sense to have a Live Stream.

Trouble is we pretty much know everything there is to know.

or do we? :p

there was person earlier in this thread or in another (I can't remember) who supposedly emailed the Media Division at Apple and asked if there would be a live stream, a rep from apple from this division answered that there wouldn't be...I don't know how credible this piece of info is, but I thought I would just put it out there...
