You've read my mind; very well put! I know I want one. (But probably don't need one) Already started my 'justifying' process, lol

I want one too. But my mid-2007 iMac is the oldest iMac that OS X Mavericks will allow itself to be installed on. Which means I'll need to wait until the version after Mavericks before I can justify upgrading. And even then, I'll probably just get a new iMac. Depending on the Mac Pro + Thunderbolt Display pricing, of course. (And I can't rule out a Mac mini + Thunderbolt Display.)
