Ordered mine! Got the 11 inch pro. I adore my Mini 6, I really do but it's just too small of a form factor for what I do on an iPad and they're offering $255 trade in ($300 through Best Buy) so I bit.

I actually like the new iPad with the keyboard, but it's not enough for me to leave my 2018 iPad pro with an apple pencil and a nearly identical Logitech combo touch keyboard set up.

Really weird video.

Several times they zoomed in on the screen so much you can see the individual pixels. Makes it look like a low PPI cheap screen.

Not very Apple like. You get the feeling they were confused about this update and really didnt care.

What i found weird was the abrupt ending.
Usually, the original presenter closes off a video with some call to action or thank you.
It does look like it was a low priority launch with lower level managers involved.

Try as I might, I just can get an iPad into my professional workflow. I've got two in a drawer next to me, doing nothing. Got a feeling the iPad is the reason we don't have cellular of touch screens on MacBooks - which I do use in a professional environment. What do you think?

Very true.

This video release has the same vibe as when I go to my in-laws for thew holidays. I'm there in body but definitely not in spirit. 🤪

Neat upgrades.

Anyone notice that there is so much diversity that they got rid of white presenters all together.
What does that have to do with anything?
Speaks volumes about you mind; first for noticing and secondly feeling the need to post it in the web. Do you run through the many, many situations where there are primarily white people and post about that? Apples management team for example?

I started to lose faith in Apple in the last few years. Only M1 has been appreciated.
I see little innovation towards real World applications, quality and durabilty of their products, but more and more cheap eye candy/bling for the fanboys/girls/neutral crowd that just want to show off their latest apple products. Amazing how they get away with that and the prices.
Building a culture of waste…

Really, 10 years ago, there people who complained that only white men (Cook, Schiller, Federighi, I’ve, etc.) were on stage. I remember the panel making jokes about all the white guys on Leo Laporte’s podcast.

On topic, did Apple release a keyboard folio for the iPad Pro? I only see the Magic Keyboard.

Wtf is that signature!!

I assume, the limitation is the second generation Pencil probably requires a ProMotion level display and digitizer. And, at this point, those probably don’t make the profit margin cut in the “regular”/entry iPad despite the price increase.
My point being how do you plug it in. Which has since been answered: via a stupid adapter. If the new iPad doesn't support wireless charging I'd have at least expected a new Pencil version 1A with USB C or supply all new pencil 1s with a flexible cable adapter.

How many people actually use a pencil, as a percentage of iPad users?
Me. Cuz it's largely one of the few points of owning an iPad, else a Mac laptop does it far better (apart from maybe the medium form factor making it better for reading). It's a pad. If I can 't scribble, draw and make notes/annotations/rough diagrams on it, then it's not a very good pad. I was only seriously interested in owning one after the pencil came out.

But I have no idea how many other people think like that and own a pencil.

Whatever your complaints may be, Apple will get away with it. Again.
That makes me picture Old Man Cook, CEO of the haunted technology company being hauled away in handcuffs yelling. “and I would have gotten away with it, if it weren’t for those meddling kids!”

Why in the world does the new iPad only support first gen Apple Pencil?! This is ridiculous! The European prices are WAY off! Holy cow!
EU prices are not that bad actually.. The problem is the weak Euro (or strong Dollar) which increases the prices in Europe by a lot these days, and not only for Apple stuff.

iPad in Europe (NL) is €487 excluding 21% VAT (sales tax), and in USA it's $449 ex. sales tax.

The price difference is because of the EU high taxes. Not really Apple's fault I think.
