I haven't watch it yet. Was it really that bad? It seems most are disappointed.

Don't watch it.
twenty minutes on an app for the AppleTV.
An hour talking about a ... bar on a laptop that replaces the Function keys. That's it. Only demos of that feature of doubtful usefulness.
All while using a plethora of adjectives and adverbs.

Exactly, Father Hackett!

Most of the time during this keynote I was like...

the price is questionable. the upgrade lackluster. glad i bought the mbpr in april. I can't believe im actually happy i bought an outdated version. there is nothing i want from this new one except the touch id. What were they thinking?

/sigh. I am such an Apple fan boy. But I have to admit that Microsoft seems to be spanking them lately and pulling up to them competitively. It won't be long before Microsoft passes them. It seems like they are a victim of their own success scattering focus with ideas that are out of scope of what made them so great. Cars? Watches? TV?.... dang it Apple, pour it (resouces / creative genius) all in your iPad, Mac, and iPhones. Enough with all the pseudo gaia based philosophy and really produce base products that truly are courageous and uncompromising in quality and meeting the actual needs of your customers and not the ones you imagine and tell us we need.

As of today, Microsoft already surpassed Apple in everything except the (still very important) phone market.

That new MacBook Pro 15" is absolutely stunning, so much hype for me. I would never buy a desk only machine anyways, unless it was a gaming PC rig.

The new customizable functionality of the Touch Bar is exciting, cannot wait to see how developers take advantage of it. Looking at you, Unity!

Looking forward to the new 5K cinema displays to launch along side the iMac in a few months! Will be getting 2 ;)

Did they remove the gasps and the moaning from the keynote when the prices were announced?
I could swear that there was some rumbling in the audience when the numbers popped up, but when I watched the part again, that part on the audio track was suspiciously clean...

Thanks for info. That's too bad. I usually enjoy the Keynotes. I know a lot of customers were looking forward to this for a long time and it seems most are not content.

Love the new Surface all-in-one hardware, if I were an artist who needed it. Windows 10? I have it. I hate it. I'll take MacOS on ANY hardware before that!

Don't panic: whatever Apple announces on a given day, it's not their LAST announcement ever. It's what's about to ship.

And it's easy to ignore the endless list of Apple innovations recently and say "they don't count." They do.

Yikes... $4711.67? For a laptop? Just $217/month for 18 months no interest!!! Wooohooo... Not...

And what gives with the 16GB limit. I'm up against that all day long already. At this point when machines are being loaded with a TB of RAM why are we still limited to 16? CRAZY... Add a pound and give me more ram! I don't care if I can slip a corner into the credit card slot of my wallet.

And yes, I closed the cart without buying right after taking the screenshot. Guess I'll wait another year or two, or three.

Sad day, this is NOT a professional grade machine. And lets not talk pricing. The state of the mac is Critical! I cannot think of one Mac i personally would purchase. :(

Well, the MBPs part was fine. For the rest... get yourself some antidepressant first. No Mac Pros, no Mac Minis, no iMacs... But hey, there's a new app for the ATV, a new website promoting accessibility features and MINECRAFT!!

I am actually just a little buthurt that the mac mini didn't get a makeover. Windows vs Mac, I still absolutely LOVE programming mac products and the unbelievable support apple provides it's developers. Microsoft has a LONG way to go to make me feel the way I do developing for Apple.

yeah, purchased mine 4 months back used with Apple care until 2018. Was about to sell it to get the new machines but will ran that guy until dies. Apple lost my business there.
Not to mention I got it for $300 off. Have you seen the new prices? Crazy!

And what's with the Touch Bar hate? People bitch that Apple never does anything innovative, and that everyone else does it first, and here we have something totally original that blows away all previous sad attempts at incorporating OLED screens into keyboards and that's your reaction?

Apple need a new CEO. Seriously. Someone likes Steve Jobs or Elon Musk.

No Mac pro, no Mac mini, no iMac, no iPads, no Apple TV services, no Macbook Air, No new Macbook, ... I can't understand what all 66,000 Apple employees have done for years? Building the spaceship? Making watch bands? Expanding fuxxing Apple stores? Apple store experiences are even getting worse and worse.

It is so sad, so sad how Tim Cook is destroying Apple.

I think Steve Jobs was an exceptional CEO, probably the best CEO to have ever lived, but his biggest mistake was in appointing Tim Cook.

Cast your minds back to 1976. When Steve Jobs invented Apple, do you think the thought of who would succeed him be even a twinkling in his eye? No. When you are a genius of the magnitude of Steve Jobs, you are one of a kind. You are impossible to replace.

There was a comment made by either Cook or Ive, I can't remember; one of them said that Steve told them, "Don't do what I would have done; do what you think is right." I can see why Steve said that; he meant follow your instincts, your gut feeling. The problem is, he had too much faith in the instincts of lesser mortals. Speaking as someone who is altogether too arrogant, I find it very hard to understand why people can't see what to me is transparently obvious, and get irritated easily when others cannot grasp what I can see. This is a kind of tunnel vision, which I think Steve Jobs had; for all his vision, what he couldn't appreciate was that the profound vision that he was blessed with and seemed to come so naturally to him was not something that came naturally to most people.

To put it bluntly: power corrupts, and the allure of money and profits overtook Apple and corrupted the bright-eyed hope that Apple offered to so many people with its optimistic vision of a new world of computing. In chasing profits, Cook has subsumed that bushy-tailed optimism, and reduced Apple to the same uninspired corporate penny-pinching that all other tech companies practise. Only this time, Microsoft seems to be taking the ashes of Jobs and creating a phoenix from it.

It depends on what you were looking for. As a developer, I like the versatility the Mini. I put on my desk next to my PC gaming rig and plug in my peripherals to share and bang out some code for my iPad pro, iPhone. I have no need for all the power or portability of the Macbook Pro (which looks great, love the touchbar, 2 core processor though for a pro laptop though?). So for me it was disappointing. And when they were showing me how to use a tv and a remote for 27 minutes, I was preparing the noose in my office. ;) )
