I was actually pretty pleased with this Keynote. Plenty of improvements. Only truly disappointing thing was no default apps on iOS

As Apple's Worldwide Developer's Conference keynote has wrapped up, the company this afternoon posted a full video of the event on its website, letting anyone who happened to miss the event catch up in their own time. Apple is expected to upload the full-length video to iTunes and YouTube later in the day.

As usual, Apple shared a few feature-specific videos within the keynote, focusing on app updates to Messages within iOS 10 and new apps like Swift Playgrounds, which we've listed below.

I was impressed by this keynote. Apple focused on software and Devs only, as they should. Leave hardware for its own keynote. iOS is becoming more open under Tim than Jobs. And that is a great thing! Not sure why MR members are never satisfied..... It's Like an echo chamber in here sometimes.

You do know that every year since its introduction iOS has become more open right? It has nothing to do with Jobs or Cook.

MR members will find a way to complain about everything from Apple. It's okay to be a critic, but when everyone calls every keynote a snoozefest and claims that Apple has lost its way, it gets kind of old. Sure, Apple's newer keynotes aren't as exciting as SJ keynotes, but they aren't as bad as these readers make them out to be.

People complain about everything but I think they improved the Watch experience, added needed Siri and watch unlock to Mac and added big new features to iOS and the Messages app will be a lot of fun.

What happens when you send one of those fancy new messages to someone who doesn't have an iPhone? Do they just see little aliens all over the screen??

What keynote did you watch, because the one I saw focused on messenger, emojis, Apple Apps and Apple Music.

Here is the thing...there is one feature that I want which is critical, and they didn't talk about at all...STABILITY! Every iteration os their OS becomes less and less stable. I don't need bouncing iMessages, I just need there to be fewer bugs (and better battery life but they always promise that and never deliver, every OS release the battery life of my macbook air gets worse and worse)

EDC, Emoji Developer's Conference.

I cannot defend Apple anymore. :bigger: :emoji:

The single best user-facing feature announced today is single sign-in for the Apple TV. That is going to be fantastic.

Overall, I was pretty happy with everything (despite the cringeworthy Apple Music presentation - Note to Apple: stop trying to be overly hip, its atrocious).

Many people on MacRumors lose perspective. This is a developer conference. That's it. Opening up Siri, Messages, and Maps to developers is pretty frigging huge.

Apple shows new software features, you say? Its all about enticing the developer community to develop for Apple's platforms and to give a sneak peak of what Apple have been working on for the global market (hello China and India), and to push ideas forward for developers to expand upon. It's that simple.

Hardware announcements will be coming before fall. Dark mode for iOS will be coming next year when it makes sense (OLED display).

People complain about everything ...
Even about people complaining too much, right? It's because they glanced through the awesome stuff and expanded on the most cheesy features. Personally I'm constantly switching between writing in German and in English and the false keyboard always faulty auto-corrects me. If multi-language QuickType works, this will be a big relieve for me.

Apparently the one I watched showed how Siri will actually start becoming useful because Apple finally decided to open it up to Devs. Same for most of their stock apps. Something MR members have been complaining about endlessly. Now it's here and you all are still trying to outdo others with nose in the air complaints.
