IPadOS is a smart move....iPads were stuck in a revolving door of being secondary to the iPhone!
Apple sign in is much more fundamental than appears! Taking a stand on privacy sets Apple apart from other big corporations!
The Files app comes into its own at last...and sharing folders will also make a big difference to home and work flows.
One of the best WWDCs for a long time...now where's my iPad 2020. :p
I just wish this " fashion" for long run in times would revert to " and it will be available after the show!"

Damn that’s an ugly Mac and Display update... I was ok with the old cheese grater, but this one looks terrible. The 1k Display stand is one of the ugliest things apple ever designed, imo.

As pointed out elsewhere, that is intentional. The designs are purposefully brutal because the Mac Pro is a machine for serious work, not a fashion accessory or art piece.

Ahhh, thats the new apple we know and love $1000 USD for a stand. Remember when you could get an entire macbook for $1000 USD? I do.

I am glad they are going their own way now with iPadOS, hopefully it will divorce itself further over the coming years. But nothing in the new MacOS is worth ditching 32bit support for me.

This was by far the best keynote I have seen in ages... well done Apple.

Still one step ahead of the competition! Sign in with Apple is the best out of the bunch for me

I was a bit underwhelmed. Good to see new Mac Pro, but not in the market for that. Loverly monitor, but even the stand is out of my price range, they really should have included at least a basic stand with the monitor. New Memoji options ...hum ....ok ... never use them. The new AppleWatch faces are nice, but they won't work with my AppleWatch :(

OK it was a developer conference, so most things are aimed at them, but I found very little of interest.

It’s still there though it does sound shorter. The original version seemed to have been louder and last long enough that the presenter had an awkward pause. He seems to resume faster in this recording.

Hey, I don’t blame Apple for editing that out. These keynotes are marketing vehicles, after all.

In Apple advertising lingo, “Sequence Shortened.”

Groangate!!!

Craig didn't introduce the Mac Pro/the pricing of the stand..

John Ternus, their vice president of Hardware Engineering did

I highly doubt he took a double take on stage as it wasn’t Craig doing the presentation...

Ha! They actually did remove the audience gasping at the cost of the pro display stand. Right around 1:42:40.

And you think removing a few seconds clip (assuming that's what it is) takes hours to edit on the new mitey Mac Pro? I can do it in just 10 seconds on my iPad.

I don't know about dampening, but the groan is very much still there. 1:41:30 onwards

I never heard anyone booing at all, I did hear others more like Gasping (Or laughing as that other member indicated) at the price for the stand.

Jesus, the people on the MacRumors forums sometimes... **shakes head**

There are bigger issues people! I don't think the holes on the new cheese grater are perfectly round.

Nah. It’s equally important to point out the nonsensical hyperbole that isn’t true what others were saying about the booing in the crowd over the stand,. FYI, that’s also not what ‘gate’ means.

Apparently it does come with a basic stand.

Agreed. I watched it’ll live last night. I could hear groans, gasps and long ‘ooohs’, not booing. Didn’t hear laughter but it was only for a couple of seconds in total. It did throw John a little but he finished his job without getting thrown too much. In a feature-packed Keynote this was a tiny blip!

Tiny, but important blip. Because it serves as a reminder to Apple, and to the whole world that even their most hardcore event-ticket-buying fans have limits.

But really they should have just said that thing starts at $5,999 with stand and $5,199 without a stand and nobody would have bat an eyelid.

This keynote will go over in history for when Apple sold a monitor without a stand to then charge people $1000 for it or pay a $200 fee for not buying it (VESA). This is not okay.

Two days ago: no monitor from apple and no stand. Life is ok.

Yesterday : expensive monitor and expensive monitor stand announced. Somehow this not ok, because...?

Today: no person alive needs this thing. Good fortune to those who can afford the hardware. Life is still ok.

Tomorrow: spend time with family, enjoy life while you can with those who you love.

Next day: no monitor from apple and no stand. Life is ok.

It’s almost as if they are trying to immediately make up for the slim margin on a decade plus of the Airport Router Line.

I don’t understand the murmurs regarding the price of the stand. The market this geared to wouldn’t even blink at the price.

10:11 PM PST here, and still not in the Apple Events app on Apple TV, though I keep reopening it.

I managed to find someone on Youtube who'd recorded it so that I could watch since I was working at the time. Odd that Apple took so long to post it. Perhaps they were attempting to delete the crowd reaction to the $999 price for the monitor stand?

I wonder if they edited out Craig Federighi‘s reaction to the thousand dollar stand. He did a double take at the audience when they booed.
Craig wasn’t the one on stage. EDIT: I see this has already been resolved.

This post makes too much sense. Someone take it down

Kudos for making the stream viewable cross platform along with consistent quality. Team responsible deserves a promotion.
Yeah, the world's largest company can host a video on their site!

I haven’t been this excited for a software update in years. There are so many features and improvements I’ve been wanting along with really cool useful things I didn’t know I wanted. The fact that they added so many things while still improving performance is insane too. Can’t wait.
