I liked it and I think what is most important is that, if you watch it in the keynote, you'll hear the audience laughing. Though these keynotes are press releases and go out to the world at large, Apple didn't cater to the wide world with this opening. They kept their focus on making something special for their conference members (developers). Which is the primary reason I'm mystified by those here who are calling it an epic failure.

It didn't need to be brilliantly funny, funny to the whole world...or even to you. It was a warm joke between Apple and the developers and it succeeded in getting warm laughs. That's all it was intended/needed to do: start the conference off with a smile. Which, to my mind, it did. Hence, I'd name it a success.

Crap. Pure, unadulterated crap. About as tasteless as it gets. Clumsy conception created with less intelligence than that you'd expect Apple to want to exhibit. Perhaps I don't get it because I'm European.
It's only "crap" if the audience that it's being offered to wasn't entertained by it. From the laughs it got at the keynote, it seems they were entertained, and as they came from around the world, I'm guessing that included a few Europeans. From their reaction, they seemed to find it tasteful and intelligent.

Of course, everyone is welcome to their opinion on it, but I have to wonder, is this "crap" going to keep you from buying any Apple product in the future? If not, then aren't you going a little overboard condemning Apple for it? It's hardly the same as Apple putting out "unadulterated crap" in an operating system or phone. It was a short joke. Why the strum und drang over it?

What’s ironic here is that Apple have shared their video on a site with ‘evil’ owners, yet nobody here picked up on it or condoned their actions.
Surely if we visit Youtube our IPs and browsing habits will be recorded and we’ll be data mined?
