Agree for every dollar the iPhone X cost, which would be 1000%. I have an absolute zero tolerance for people with zero serious computing agenda. I remember back when Uncle Steve demoed Photo Booth for the first time and my utter elephantine disdain for it, the Mac he demoed it on, and everything Apple. I vowed from that day forth to switch to Windows as Microsoft does not endeavor into such frivolity that Apple so often does. I am a serious person so I need a serious computer. Nowadays I use Linux.

This Thanksgiving, I made it my mission to educate my family and their friends in the virtue of owning and using such luxurious yet immensely powerful systems such as Linux, Windows, and Android, purely because these respected and award-winning marvels of technology don't trifle such childish experiences that Apple proffers to its users. They did not respond well and it is unfortunate that their recalcitrant and intransigent petulance towards my facts made an other joyful Thanksgiving an awkward event. I just made sure to quip just how awesome my Samsung-branded phone and Chromebook allow me perform serious and intelligent co

I have such hateful rage for Apple's insistence in humanizing technology. No. Stop it, Apple. Stop it. Technology doesn't need liberal arts. Technology is technology. Period. End of story. Fin.

Amusing , but you missed my point completely. This isn’t about liberal arts it’s about more vapid crap to distract - but sure build a straw-man...

NB i would have selectively cut-and-pasted your comments - unfortunately Selecting text on an iPhone Is something that doesn’t work very well in all applications - They could’ve fix that instead of making this feature

Hedging one's bets, I see. Inseminating technology with liberal art crap has resulted in Apple developing insipid frivolity such as Photo Booth and now Animojis. Computers are serious business. I would rather see my children and other people's children using iPads and iPhones to educate themselves instead of becoming tech-zombies in the pursuit of "fun."

At Thanksgiving, there was a moment when family was having fun over the silliness of Animoji. I promptly interjected by talking about Egypt. This is important. This is serious business. But, no. People rather pursue frivolity.

I don't think anyone is saying Animoji isn't fun. I think most people are just pointing out that there are a ton of other things they would have preferred they fix before making talking poopheads. I think Siri is clearly one of these. But then again I think many are also lamenting that they will probably sell more on the merit of talking poop heads than a more useful AI assistant. That is more of a commentary on our current society than on Apple. Also, I remember a day when Apple expressed that they "were all full up on fart apps" and started trimming the cruft in the App store. I guess we've come a long way since that day.

So for the record, I don't WANT this feature like many but I guess it's nice to have. Nor do I think anyone is "entitled" to it. I'm not sure who would be entitled to talking poop heads (although there are a few on this forum lol). I think it's a ..... "****" move by Apple to not put it on all the phones but whatever. I guess they felt the need to hype up the X. Seems dumb to me? I can't imagine someone buying an X just for talking poop heads, but then again there are some geniuses on here defending it like its quantum computing or something. (cue my now blocked buddy to demand pictures of poop-based quantum computing as evidence now).

Nice, generic comment.

No one has a "full grasp" of the situation except Apple and they told us $87B this QUARTER, which would be the highest ever for Apple. Needs to have strong X demand to hit that and Apple thinks they will.

Apple Retail, I do know, is absolutely selling out of all iPhone X stock daily. It's a fact unless you want to start arguing the validity of istocknow which is using Apple.com store availability data.

AT&T I do know is also sold out in my area. I have 10 Apple stores in my immediate area, all sold out by the end of the day, every single day.

Apple guided for $87B, meaning they knew production would ramp quickly.

Independent reports suggest Apple is producing over 550,000 X/day, giving them over 15M/month capacity and ramping higher.

iPhone X is also sold out in Asia and most of Europe at Apple Retail.

These are the things we know. You can throw out the story about 550,000/day because it's just conjecture like every other Apple article. The other stuff I posted are undeniable facts. I don't claim to know the status of X with all Apple's channel partners, but Apple Stores are KILLING IT.

Not what I was referring to; the superfluous and seemingly self-aggrandising nature of your original post is what prompted my response.

Do you think that chose that blonde chick to sing next to the unicorn because, well, she's got a kinda horse face?
I mean, not in a Sarah Jessica Parker kinda 'horsey' way, I mean in a pretty way - so, yeah, like a unicorn. Y'know?

What were we talking about again?
