I find IT ironic that you are questioning my credibility when my first paragraph went over your head or you would not mention the Q4 report - I literally laughed out loud, so I am not sure if I can take you seriously, and a small minor grammatical error doesn’t affect me whatsoever. I am not going to dwell on IT unlike you.

Samsung did show the foldable device during their keynote a year or two ago and I have seen paper-thin TV’s, so I am very confident about IT being released and a hit.

You mentioned two products Apple are working on 1) AR Glasses and 2) Autonomous Cars. Let’s starts with 1) AR Glasses, I see Apple targeting professionals like in hospitals - training Doctors, but I don’t see how they will persuade the public? Pokemon Go is a good example - currently, how many are playing IT? Do you remember the 3D TV - that is all I will say on IT. Lastly, 2) Autonomous Cars, are you kidding me? Apple will be amongst sharks in a small pond, and how much they will charge - a house? By the way, Samsung tipped to reveal blockbuster 150” Micro LED TV at CES 2018, so there you go.

I am still an Apple fan, but I just don’t like the iPhone X’s notch, and price. How hard is IT for you to comprehend that, eh? This is a genuine and an honest question.

Now, please do not bore me.
Samsung's profitability isn't even driven by their finished consumer products but rather the tech that goes INSIDE. It's driven by memory chips, screens, and other manufacturing prowess. Nothing went over my head. My post destroyed you.

it's all groovy and all, but I am having trouble with one certain pair of RayBan wraparound sunglasses. 50% of the time Face ID doesn't work and or takes too long...

That was so cute. Thank you for making my evening. I am very grateful Mr Apple investor.

Thanks for reporting my post. Must have really gotten to you.

It's OK if you don't understand the companies as well as I do. That's what I'm here for.

BTW, Samsung is a manufacturing company so they "show off" a lot of tech. A 150" screen is a niche market and not ready for mass market. They "showed off" foldable phones in 2014 and here we are. A paper thin TV is one thing, but a paper thin foldable phone that needs memory, processors, antennae, microphones, and BATTERIES is a different problem. It will come, but I question the problem solving it really accomplishes as well as the practicality of a dual device. I don't really need "tablet" mode with my phone. It will probably be thick and ugly too. Apple filed a patent, so whatever it is, they'll have an answer.

I'll go with Apple's execution on anything over Samsung just throwing stuff out there that doesn't work well.

I have not reported you. Whether you believe me or not, I frankly don’t care. Please don’t assume how I feel.

Excellent points, a paper thin display != paper thin phone. There is more stuff involved.

REPORTING WAR!!!!! lol

GOOD NEWS! I have REAL data.

As of 8:15pm ET, Apple Retail stores are COMPLETELY sold out in the US besides stores in California, where it is currently only 5:15PM. Those will be gone later tonight, as usual. This is according the istocknow, so please start punching holes in the quality of the data.

Any questions?

No, I just know more about AAPL than you. I am an investor, so I literally see everything because I make it a point to do so. I don’t research AAPL because I am a fanboy...I know the facts because I am very long.

Remember when consumers asked for an iPhone in 2006? Oh wait, that never happened.

I don't think you have a full grasp of the situation.

Nice, generic comment.

No one has a "full grasp" of the situation except Apple and they told us $87B this QUARTER, which would be the highest ever for Apple. Needs to have strong X demand to hit that and Apple thinks they will.

Apple Retail, I do know, is absolutely selling out of all iPhone X stock daily. It's a fact unless you want to start arguing the validity of istocknow which is using Apple.com store availability data.

AT&T I do know is also sold out in my area. I have 10 Apple stores in my immediate area, all sold out by the end of the day, every single day.

Apple guided for $87B, meaning they knew production would ramp quickly.

Independent reports suggest Apple is producing over 550,000 X/day, giving them over 15M/month capacity and ramping higher.

iPhone X is also sold out in Asia and most of Europe at Apple Retail.

These are the things we know. You can throw out the story about 550,000/day because it's just conjecture like every other Apple article. The other stuff I posted are undeniable facts. I don't claim to know the status of X with all Apple's channel partners, but Apple Stores are KILLING IT.

I personally like seeing Apple do so well. I just hope that by continuing to sell at such a high-profit margin that they don't lose sight of the basics. I love what they do with Hardware. I love what they do with OS's. Some of their feature decisions in both areas are questionable, but overall they far eclipse the competition in my opinion in these 2 key areas. One area they never seem to get right is online services. They also are squarely missing the data needed to support Siri in any real manner. They are partially hamstrung because of their pledge to support customer data privacy. Also, they don't maintain a search engine so that hurts them in several areas as well as providing data for some of their services. If they could get a decent search engine and clean up their overall online service offerings I think they'd be in a better position but then again how much better could they be? That is part of my fear though.

Enough said. It works without the feature, and yes the bloggers updated that it works but maybe not to "perfection" but works extremely well. Wow, you bleed Apple red. Just remember I am a fan as well, just not a fan of stuff like this when they do it.
I don’t keep track of whether any given poster is an Apple or not; there are plenty of both on this site. But I do think it’s important to correct misinformation.

There is plenty about Apple that legitimately deserves criticism. Issues that when brought to light can, should and hopefully will result in a better product—which will ultimately benefit me and other customers.

For example, I would love to see Apple up their game wrt software QA. I think they can and should do better in the quality of their OS releases. I know Siri can be better, and given the R&D spend I expect a much better Siri experience at some point—the sooner the better. And I’m really looking forward to a much-improved Mac Pro next year. The 2013 model was a real screw up, and Apple took too long to realize the issues and execute the complete reset that’s needed.

So I reject your contention that I “bleed Apple red”; the implication—stated outright by other posters—that I’m just a fanboy. I criticize Apple when I think it’s warranted. But those who post outdated, debunked or otherwise incorrect “alternative facts” should expect to be called on it, whether by me or someone else.

Yeah, but it's not "alternative facts", all Apple legal pressure on blogs aside.

Apple legal pressure on blogs?

Blogs have amazing latitude in what they publish, unless they run afoul of copyright or libel laws.

Please don’t leave us hanging, I’d love to hear more about this.

Not even that, makes total sense what Timmy is doing, look at whom they are selling.. overprice everything till Black Friday, then set it's real price as "discount", sad times..

The video is brilliant

Reminds me of the chickens during feeding time :)

Oh lord, you keep trying to call everything fake or alternate even though I hand you link reality with videos demoing that you don't need the truedepth for it to work. I can't do much else for you. I am sure there are some Flat Earth meetups or something where you can discuss how this is all fake and a conspiracy to defame Apple if you like lol.

Apple says Animoji does use the TrueDepth camera to improve the quality of the captured Animoji. Your blogger has not disproven this statement, nor have you. So claiming Apple is lying is just you spreading misinformation.

Then you claim Apple is putting legal pressure on blogs, but you can’t provide any source to backup your claim. More misinformation posted by you.

Don’t expect to be able to post made up crap and not get called on it. That’s not how it works around here.

Dude, you must not read well, People cover up the truedepth camera and it works. The blogs said that correctly and demonstrated it. Then Apple PR etc. pitches a fit and starts going for corrections and people on blogs react and test again or post the update that Apple sent out directly. What else do you want to hear? You are welcome to keep repeating BS and acting like it is the truth? Can't help you much there. So "call out" whatever you like but it just isn't factual. You can type as many words as you like to change that but you can cover up the truedepth camera and the thing works just like everybody else can? There isn't much left to say after that. Sorry, you can't seem to understand that for some reason?

Better yet, cover up yours and try it (assuming you even have one and aren't just talking out your #$@#). Then go look at all the corrections and then a few redactions after retesting and marvel at Apple PR in action. Or, just sit in a tent made out of covers and have a cool guys club of your own. Doesn't matter much either way lol.

It is you who does not read well. You ignore the truth, preferring to believe the incorrect initial reports, and not the corrections to the misinformation.

Do your research, here’s what the blogger (MKBHD) later tweeted:

Update: Talked to Apple about Animoji: It does actually use data from the IR and depth sensors for better accuracy.

Like I said above, “Apple uses the TrueDepth camera to improve the quality of the captured Animoji”.

If you claim the blogger and Apple are wrong, you need proof. You just claiming the opposite isn’t proof.

Still waiting for you to post sources to backup your claim that Apple is putting legal pressure on blogs.

for better accuracy.

LOL, done and done. I forgot about the ignore feature. Thankfully I can add you to it now. It works without truedepth lol.

Man you are hilarious. Wait all you want, I am done talking to people who don't want to accept Apple does this stuff. They did the same thing with Siri and people like you kept right up with the "buh buh but Apple said" shenanigans just like now. If you knew thing one about video processing and what is possible without some magic IR sensor you'd know how well things like this work and not keep parroting what you read. Maybe Anomoji wouldn't work in the dark without Truedepth but that would be about it.

Apple makes certain features available only on the flagship. They did it with Animoji and they did it with Siri. Similarly, you can’t get dual cameras on the regular iPhone 8, you have to get the Plus. If you pay more, you get more. What “more” you get is decided by Apple.

Compared to the less expensive iPhone 8, the flagship X offers Animoji, new swipe gestures, FaceID, OLED display, a faster telephoto lens, OIS on the telephoto and probably other things I’ve forgotten.

That you feel entitled to flagship features without paying for them is not relevant. Sure, Apple could offer a version of Animoji on the 8. Or the 7 or 6S for that matter. (It wouldn’t be exactly the same as the one on the X since only the X has TrueDepth but it would be similar. Supermoji works on earlier models and is available for Android too.) But they don’t. It’s available only on the X. That upsets you, but that’s reality.

Siri was available only on the 4S. It’s one of the features Apple added to encourage users to upgrade from earlier phones. Could they have backported it to earlier models? Sure, but they didn’t. If Siri was something you wanted, you had to buy the new flagship 4S. You don’t like that, but if you want the features of the most expensive phone, you have to buy the most expensive phone.

Still waiting for you to backup your claim that Apple is putting legal pressure on blogs.
