Its true that Canada is something like 20 years behind Europe. I'm still amazed every day how inefficient certain things are. (can you believe that they still send faxes and use cheques? ROFL).

Yeah, maybe one day they will get on par with Europe.
Anyway, wonder why the Apple Card is not available anywhere else but USA.

The banking system is soooooo archaic! Moves like molasses. I've been waiting for 15 YEARS for BMO to add Messaging to their Mobile app. Still don't have it. AND the messaging feature is even worse in their latest web banking update, not to mention taking DAYS to get a response back. Such a shame how clueless they are to what consumers expect these days.

I jut got mine. So far, so good, and earning interest right away is better than sitting on rewards points that I hoard in wait for gift card sales (I'm looking at you, Ultimate Rewards, and you're one of the better programs out there).
Me too. It's pretty and all, but right now I'm looking for a use for it other than Apple purchases and the rotating list of bonus partners each month.
My Alaska Airlines Visa is my daily driver due to mileage rewards but wife and I figure we spend enough money at Apple each year to justify the addition and benefits it comes with.
Again, really do like that snazzy titanium card. Feel like every other card needs to step up their game.

Love the Apple Card...would love more perks. Amex gives me up to 6% cash back on groceries...Discover 5% cash back on a rotating category. Capital One Savor 3% back on Food and Entertainment. If they could do an Apple Platinum or something for people with excellent credit profiles and more perks, I would love that!
The Capital One Savor is great because it has a complimentary Uber One membership and 10% cash back on Uber Eats purchases.

btw, the 10% cash back also applies to Uber-owned Postmates, and for whatever reason Postmates is always cheaper.

I don't understand why its not available in Canada. Its been 5 years, whats taking so long?

Simple answer - banks don't like it. Apple has stringent requirements, such as all bills go out on the same date which causes havoc with customer support. The only bank which supports it is Goldman Sachs and they are divorcing. We'll see if Apple has to make concessions in order to get another U.S. bank on board which might lead to expansion elsewhere.

Because no bank is as foolish as Goldman Sachs in wanting to give Apple a one-sided sweetheart deal

Perks:
insta-virtual card number
quick access to transactions
quick/easy 4.4% savings account access.

Non-perk:
cashback. i don't use apple pay much and have better cashback/reward options on other cards for most things. Never used a bonus offer on the Apple card.

Skeptical:
Not sure about level of human support. Like if I had a real problem. Amex is proven to me as is Chase.

Cool but never used: The physical card itself. Mostly because I have cards with better rewards. I used the Apple card as a bookmark while looking something up in an old book and it has stayed there ever since. A few years maybe?

I guess it's a little thick for a bookmark...probably why I haven't used it the books I've read lately. That and I forgot until I typed this.

Apple Card has zero card benefits other than cash back compared to other no-fee cards: zero extended warranty, zero protection from loss/theft in first X days, rental car coverage, etc etc. Other than Apple purchases (3% back), there are other no fee cash back cards which offer way more consumer protections with useful web sites and live support staff.

I've had the Apple Card since 2019, use it with Apple Pay quite often. I've had a very good experience with it, and the rewards are added to my Apple Savings account regularly; with other cards I've used that have cash back rewards, the rewards are paid out annually.

But @DrKari makes a really important point I'd forgotten about. Other cards offer important protections at no extra cost. If we're lucky with our purchases and car rentals, etc. we won't need these. But for those who do, these protections can save you a ton of money.

Apple PAY is great. Apple CARD is meh. My grocery store credit card gives me 5% cash back on the first $3,000 of Apple Pay purchases a year (at any merchant).

You say this but as someone who has had an Apple Card since release and is also in the AMEX ecosystem (plat, gold, bus, savings & checking) points absolutely suck! Too many games and the company always wins. The business gets 2% back but only applies as a statement credit so it doesn’t earn interest and it’s not immediate. Also, most savings accounts, if not all, don’t pay out interest on the 1st of the month which GS absolutely hates doing apparently.

I live in an area where I always use Apple Pay to get 2% and the cash back is instantly deposited into my savings account earning interest that gets paid out on the 1st (oddly nice vs random date). Keep your stupid points and “perks” that you try to use to justify the annual fee. Keep the trash statement credits you receive 1-2 months later and savings account that pay on the random day the account is created.

Uhhhhhhh

These ads are NOT new. They’ve been running on tv for a week now starting with NBA conference finals.

Apple only just uploaded them to YouTube after someone forgot to upload them……

Apple today released a trio of short ads designed to promote the Apple Card, which is Apple's credit card that continues to be limited to the United States.

The Sock, Sweater, and Ladder spots all highlight different Apple Card features. Sock focuses on the Daily Cash back reward, Sweater demonstrates the option to see past purchases, and Ladder shows the ease of paying an Apple Card balance through the Wallet app.

All three ads feature the tagline "Reboot your credit card" and link to the Apple Card website so that potential customers can get more information.

Apple Card has been available in the U.S. since 2019, and it integrates with the Wallet app for easy purchase management. Daily Cash back, which is delivered same-day, is one of the key features. Customers get one percent cash back from standard physical card purchases, two percent for Apple Pay purchases, and three percent cash back at select partner stores and Apple retail locations.

Is there any chance Apple Card could become avaible in other counters?

If you find the AMEX “perks” and benefits so distasteful, one has to wonder why are you still a part of their ecosystem?

Seriously who’s doing Apples ads currently, they’re terrible

I agree. "Sweater" is basically an ad for Amazon. The other two are advertizing things that any credit card can do. And the lighting is so dark and dingy - even the outdoor scene looks like their must be a cloud of ash in the sky. Who is this ad aimed at? I don't want anything that comes from this world.

"Sweater" is a particular issue because the sweater looks brand new, and colorful, in contrast to everything else. Apple card has not been around long enough for him to outgrow it. So when the wife comes out, I assumed they were wearing each others clothes for some reason. And then she buys him another one? That is what Amazon does, what does this have to do with an Apple card?

Edit: And oh yes, she doesn't bother to order it in a different size.

It’s free for me to be in the ecosystem but I did recently close my savings & checking. That’s not the point of this discussion though.

They're in the laundry room. He has a laundry basket at his feet. He did the laundry and the sweater was shrunk when he took it out of the dryer. That was all pretty clear, I thought.

Interesting, I will have to rewatch it. I thought it shrunk in the laundry, not that he out grew it.
