What’s the point of wireless charging if it’s sitting on your dresser and the plug reaches it anyway?

The failure of AirPower to come to market has made the wireless charging AirPods unnecessary.

Let's not overstate what AirPower really would have brought to the market beyond just wirelessly charging 3 devices at a time on one pad. There was no indication nor promise of fast wireless charging, without that then it was useless.
 
well, wireless charging is about the only real improvement over v1, so it's a no brainer.

it was mostly convenience, I could have charged phone, watch, AirPods no matter where I put them on the mat, now I have to align the coil with the charger.

No clue what you’re talking about and it’s literally the first time I’ve heard of it. Take them back to Apple.

I’ve used Belkin and Anker and it works perfectly every single time.
