So far live photo's have been crap. The 3 second before the image are almost smooth but the last 3 are always stuttery. Not to mention the quality is horrible.

I've no idea who this guy is (clearly not a basketball fan) but I like the ad and Live Photos is fantastic. Everyone I showed it to agrees that it captures memories much better than stills.

And it looks especially cool when I use it as a watch face on my Apple Watch.
That guy is a true to life, honest to god, baby faced assassin. He is a .50 cal head shot from a mile away. Curry is an offensive masochist who loves to put defenders in pain. Unfortunately, he's western conference so I'm pretty sure he clubs baby seals in the off season.

On topic. Ad was okay. More importantly, I hate Curry. He is soooooo damn good.

Too bad actual Live Photos are never as smooth as this.

Mine always come out smooth at first, then speed up/get choppy, then smooth at the end...

I love how terrible the photo that was taken is, like there is no reason you would take this as a photo instead of a video as you'd be extremely likely to cut the video... I mean "live photo" short.

My family as a whole upgraded to the new iPhones, and as the techy person in my family, I dismissed live photos as a gimmick, but my whole family is in love with it. I could honestly say live photos is probably the only time they even use force touch. Maybe it was made so people get comfortable using force touch. Let's be honest, it is a bit of a power user feature, and it would take a bit of work for the average person to use. Come to think of it, I only used force touch today to move the fish on my lock screen and peek at an email, that's it.

This whole celebrity thing is making me a bit nervous for Apple. A lot of people avoid Beats just because they're associated with shoddy quality, in-your-face marketing, and they break easily. With all of the defects in the latest iPhone 6s, (I went through 4 before I got one without a dead pixel, a broken home button, or a bad backlight) I really hope that the Beats marketing gimmicks and poor quality don't leak into the Apple ethos, and quite honestly, I hope it eventually flows the other way to maybe make some awesome-quality sound products out of a slightly tamer Beats brand.

It's surprising how most people in this thread are complaining. Usually people complain about things that make them worse off, which is understandabe. Live Photos don't make you worse off, they don't take anything away from you. Whether you like the feature or not, you're technically better off. Econ 101 people.

Takes away storage, but I get your point lol

I love Macs and OS X, but still see no reason to upgrade my iPhone 3GS. It's a leash and I don't need a better leash.

Off topic, but why does Macrumors repeatedly insist on reporting that Apple "shared" a new commercial?

That makes it sound like it's some kind of private home movie that we're supposed to feel privileged to see.

They aren't "sharing" anything. It's an ad. They're "debuting" it, like a movie. Or maybe "releasing" it, like a hound after your wallet.

Has Apple started to churn out more ads recently than normal? I don't remember seeing that many for say the 4/4S and 5.

I still think that Live Photos is a space-eating gimmick, that will be forcing people to either buy higher storage devices or subscribe to iCloud storage plans. Every still photo comes to life in our minds anyhow and this phenomenon is not limited to just a few seconds before & after. ;)
