Nobody is asking you to.
Here’s a creator who filmed the review of his iPhone 12 pro on his iPhone 12, then edited it on his Mac (using airdrop). He also uses his iPad to edit his video thumbnails.
Great vid! Looks really good on 2017 MBP.Nobody is asking you to.

Geez. Bit of unfounded hate going on here...I was pretty sure I had seen this photo from before.

Kuo: Largan to Ship 'High-End' Camera Lenses for 'iPhone 12' From Mid-July
I can't wait. Photography is my life. And for the last five or so years my camera of choice is the one that's always with me, my iPhone. Ocean Beach, San Francisco:forums.macrumors.com
Maybe you have taken only one good photo who knows
Exactly what I was thinking. Looking at the resulting image, it wasn’t shot on an iPhone 12 Pro.Was the ad itself shoot with the 12 pro? My guess is not which render this ad in the super bs category.
I have plenty of dedicated cameras. For the last five years I choose to shoot exclusively with my phone. I suspect others may feel similarly.
If you are a pro photographer I am really interested to know, if you say this tiny digital camera attached to a phone is just as good as the full fledged Nikon ones, why would any one buy those dedicated ones?
awesome photo by the way, and I am someone who does not appreciate photography.
The best camera is the one that's with you is pretty much at the heart of what Apple is claiming here. Followed closely by our cameras are pretty BA.
I like gear as much as the next. But the best gear in the world can't tell a story on it's own. I often think of what it would have been like growing up with access to these types of tools as a creative little kid. And while the majority of iPhone users are staying up-to-date on Instagram, some are busy telling the next great story. I mean, think of the stories these devices have helped tell this past year. Without them, who knows what horrors would have continued unchecked. No mater how you slice it, the potential these devices offer is nothing short of staggering.
Shame that they don’t actually play in Dolby Vision when using AirPlay to my 2020 LG CX OLED. Don’t see how I’m meant to watch themt
Most completely shot on iPhone and then edited afterwards as usual. Not to get cynical immediately, but two questions
1. Was this ad shot completely on an iphone 12? (be cool if it was but doubtful)
2. If you've got a buget for mics, light rigs, miniatures, horses, do yourself a favor and pick up a used EOS or A7iii, even a gopro for under $1k.
I mean, I get the ad, gonna get some peeps into filmmaking but still...
Why not use a dedicated camera?
Sorry, why would anyone edit an entire movie on their camera -- be an iPhone or a dedicated film/video camera??
I am not editing a 4k video on a 6inch screen

Hah, this sounds like a comment I would make. Been trying to think positive lately, but you're probably right.Probably capture & edit some amazing footage of people fighting for survival in the post-apocalyptic world.
I see... The name, fits. And, as you allude to up above, thank god almost everyone has a phone in their pocket. And when an injustice is spotted, it will quickly come to light for all to see, with the perpetrator exposed and hopefully brought to justice.
It's so refreshing to see someone here who gets what photography is really about!
My iPhone is always with me. If I see an urban scene that evokes something special in my mind I'll make a candid photo. If I come across a stranger who I believe is interesting in some way, I'll have a conversation and make a portrait.
