Apple Shares New 'Sway' Holiday Ad Featuring AirPods and iPhone X

Apple traditionally shares a touching holiday ad in November or December, and this year's spot, Sway, was uploaded to the company's YouTube channel this afternoon.

The ad shows off both the iPhone X and the AirPods, featuring a woman dancing through a snowy city to the song "Palace" by Sam Smith. She runs into a partner, imagines sharing an AirPod with him, and the two of them go on to briefly fall in love before returning to reality where they pass by each other in the street.

Past Apple holiday ads have been well-received and have even won awards, including the company's 2013 ad "Misunderstood," featuring an iPhone 5s being used to capture holiday activities like baking cookies and decorating a Christmas tree.

Last year's ad featured Frankenstein's monster participating in some holiday cheer.

What makes this generic? Although, this wasn't much of an iPhone add, as it was about AirPods for the Product.

I’m sure as a creative director of your own life, you know best. But Apple’s tag line defines it as a holiday ad.

Yeah fat chances a girl capable of doing somersaults will come dancing to me and give me one of her airpods and kiss me. I will donate a couple of iphone x if that happens, because most certainly i will be moved by that for sure 😛

I don't really associate the winter holidays with falling in romantic love.

I liked the one with the kid who was making a home movie on his iphone, while from the outside it seemed like he was aloof. Both Christmasy and a nice message about perceptions.

But they only advertised iPhone X and AirPods. AirPods are an awesome product, but their look is literally one of the only downsides that puts people off - maybe don't put that front and centre.
