Cheesy song with overdone and overproduced autotune vocals.
Sam Smith was pretty much done a long time ago. I guess, this is what millennials listen to nowadays lol
As for the commercial itself, it’s cute. Nothing more, nothing less. They could’ve done better!

I was at a stop light the other day. A man in his 60s walked across the street with apple ear headphones. They look god-aweful! Who decided to make them white? He looked like my dad (and I'm in my 50s) with earings! Why not black or beige colored? Silly.

My fav part is how at the end the AirPod teleports from the guy back to the girls other ear. I’m guessing this will be coming out in iOS 11.2?

But they only advertised iPhone X and AirPods. AirPods are an awesome product, but their look is literally one of the only downsides that puts people off - maybe don't put that front and centre.

Well the look doesn’t really bother me, but if the look truly is one of the worst things about it, then you need to put that front and center as frequently as possible. That will normalize the look. Often times the first time you see things it looks weird (phablet sized phones for example), but the more often you see them the more you get used to it.

Uhh, I’m no Sam Smith fan, but the vocals in that song are not autotuned*. The man can sing, even if I’m not a fan of his music.

* What I’m saying here is that he’d have no trouble at all singing that on a stage; subtle use of autotune is common. Sam Smith doesn’t need to use it as a crutch like some artists do.

6/10

Sam Smith? They used to use much hipper music.

The wire work was also a little corny.

Story also a little convoluted at end.

Obviously, you have no idea what you’re talking about!
Auto tune has different effects! It doesn’t have to sound like Cher’s Believe haha
Plug in some good headphones and listen to it again. Auto tune is not about being able to sing or not lol It’s also about producing vocals and vocal arrangements. This particular vocal effect on his voice has been overdone to death by now! I don’t care about his singing abilities. My post was not even about it. I couldn’t care less about him personally. Speaking of good singers, there are millions more out there who are way better singers than Smith btw. They’re not as hip though due to the fact that Sammy comes from a very rich British family. So singing abilities couldn’t be more irrelevant nowadays haha

Does not removing one airpod stop the music?

I believe so, but then I think it starts again when you put it back in

I personally think with the cost of the iPhone X the airpods should have been included in the box.

While I think that would be great, it seems like there have been production issues with the AirPods. The last thing Apple would want would be for production of AirPods to delay iPhone deliveries

It is likely additional unhygienic actions will be made later by those two people after the music stops.

What you mean like making snow angels?

Meh. I love my AirPods but they're not great for being "lost in the moment". I use them when I don't mind background noise and I just want background music. They're not great if you really want to listen, unless you are somewhere quiet. Having said that, what happens in this ad is pretty much what my life is like every day.........

Yeah fat chances a girl capable of doing somersaults will come dancing to me and give me one of her airpods and kiss me. I will donate a couple of iphone x if that happens, because most certainly i will be moved by that for sure :p
Have you tried Tinder?

Wtf happened to the 2nd airpod in the end? She didn't take it back... Are they releasing transparent Airpods?
She never put it in. It was all imagined.

I liked it quite a lot. Beautifully shot.
Definitely.

How are people not understanding that the majority of this ad is capturing a feeling she had in a split second and didn't literally happen?

The choreography is stunning and I think this ad is beautiful.
Because those people are not the target audience.

u and a partner share earbuds and this happens ? wow... Apple must be getting it really good :D

I know when I take one out it stops. I didn't know you could then stick one in someone else's ear and have the music play for both people.
The AirPod does not know it was stuck in someone else's ear. It only knows that the sensor was triggered to start playing again. Kinda like my daughters' iPhones don't know the difference between their fingerprints and mine or my wife's.

Feels like an echo of the idea behind the movie La La Land.

Either way, it wasn’t good in my opinion. Didn’t make an emotional connection. So g wad t great. Did t feel like holiday-more like “missed connections” section on Craig’s list.
