You’re telling me. I’m a bit of a musical theatre buff, and the history and architecture of old school venues are a heavy interest of mine. Other than the occasional trip to Universal Studios I don’t have much reason to go up to LA but this will definitely be a must see the next time I’m up there. Looks incredible.
Well if you love musical theater then you should tour all the fabulous theaters on Broadway in downtown LA such as the Los Angeles theater, million dollar theater, the Orpheum and the restored ace theater!

Why am I not astonished there are people hating on what Apple has done here? Such childish comments.

Apple taking an historic Los Angeles theater built in 1927 that was likely going to be demolished and spending many millions of dollars (I wouldn't even be close estimating this, $50+ million?), carefully preserving its architectural opulence and grandeur and bringing it up to current commercial building codes, to benefit the arts district in general and people who visit. Huge hat-tip to Apple!

I do love how Apple buys up/rents out these fantastic old buildings and restores them.
I would love to just get an Apple store closer to me than 3 hours. Yeah, we have/had access to a Best Buy, but that is not the same.

Fabulous!! I have the day off on Thursday so I’m taking the streetcar to the grand opening. This is a very smart move for Apple. Broadway in DTLA it’s really becoming a destination. Afterwards I’m headed to the Grand Central market for lunch.

While it's wonderful that a historic building is being preserved and restored, let's be real: Apple isn't funding this, you and I are by paying the premium Apple charges for their products. I wonder how many people would rather pay a bit less for their products in exchange for less glitzy stores...

Thanks for the news flash that some of the profits Apple receives on the sales of its products and services goes for capital expenditures such as store construction/rehabilitation.

I had no idea!

Why doesn't Apple provide wallpapers for iOS/macOS that are photos of one of these works of art instead of the weird abstract stuff that hurts the eyes?
Because they would perhaps have to license those pics since this is a historical building. Why should do that when they know the customers are going to change the wallpaper anyway?

Interesting that it’s “Tower Theatre” and not “Tower Theater”. When did Californians start spelling theatre incorrectly?
It’s pretty subjective, but generally speaking, theatre tends to refer to the old school movie palaces, musical theatre, stage plays, Vaudeville, live acting, that sort of thing. Theater is typically used in the more modern connotation for venues built strictly to show projector films.
