It would have been more interesting if they had made the fact that everyone is blind incidental to the plot, and not the main plot idea.

The main plot idea is even dumber, according to Ars.

"Part of See's theme is that those with sight will change the world because they will read books and learn from the mistakes of the past."

That might be the dumbest thing I've ever heard.. who is teaching these kids to read?

Speaking as a blind man, a shaved beard and color matched clothes isn't that difficult.

Yeah, but you're doing that for the benefit of other people. Who are these people doing it for if everyone is blind?

Usually have to watch shows to decide if they are good. Previews generally make shows look a lot better than reality. Look at most movie trailers.

Sorry don’t have the time for that. Looks dumb by the description and trailer. There’s only like a hundred more shows to look at that sound more interesting.

I think the baby is crying in response to the lightning. So the baby is responding before the rest of them hear the thunder.
Yes but how would a blind person know about the lightning that comes before the thunder.

Either they can all see, but very little.
or
They will have a fantastic show and ideas that will blow everyone away.
or
This is gonna suck

I'm looking forward to watching it. I do think it helps that for me it's free due to my 11 pro. Reviewers can always get a bit carried away, not every show has to be a 10/10 smash hit. Some of the best shows have been mediocre at times but overall enjoyable.
True. And as we have seen(Joker)the critics and the general public can disagree wildly.

Like what? Most of Netflix is garbage.

Do you really want us to list shows on competing services that'll be better?!? We can if you want.

Actually, critics were right on the money with Joker. The film was a 7 out of 10. Good, not great. Phoenix was great and rose above mediocre material. But, since most DC films of late are horrible, even a mediocre film is considered a wild success by that audience.

Maybe they found the same books that you and I used to learn to read? That said,I seriously doubt I'm going to like this show. The basic premise has to make sense to me, and an entire suddenly blind population achieving what they have in the trailer is a really hard sell. This from someone who almost walked out of The Matrix when the revealed the entire reason for it's existence was to harvest thermal energy from living humans. So mind blowingly dumb that everything that followed was ruined.

Agree
Question.... does someone tell you what color of clothes you have selected?

Assuming the entire population is without sight, it would stand to reason that no one would have a clue as to what anything looks like because it was never described to them. Unless, of course, books have detailed descriptions. Even then, how would they know how to dye thread to make colorful clothing. Lots of questions....

They will sell more iPhones, iPads, Macs,... with those services

This is a joke, right? The whole point of Apple TV + was to make up revenue from declining hardware sales.

Sure. You're in the business of predicting what's good without seeing it, so do it.

In the end, all the matters is how the shows do...not what you think or that you "won't be watching."

Netflix just had to raise $2B...AAPL just made $13.7B profit in 90 days. They can buy whatever they want, including the entire Netflix library. It all depends how far they want to go. Right now, it's a new product in pilot mode.

I'm going to do what I do with all video games now - wait and see.

I'm excited about a live action Obi Wan series with Ewan McGreggor on Disney, but I'll wait and see.lol

Sounds like a Microsoft apologist from 10 years ago. ;) Netflix doesn't have much of a library since Comcast and Disney took their toys and went home.

"Dungeons and Dragons" but if you want dragons it's $999 extra...
