The first two are promoting inauthentic behavior. Not good.

If you forget someone‘s name, apologize and ask them again. If you didn’t read their email, be honest and say so. Both are more human, more genuine, and, while slightly awkward at first, will build healthier relationships.

The third video? I wasn’t sure what that was all about. But it didn’t condone faking it. Better, I guess.
it’s real life. sometimes you don’t want to ask someone’s name especially if there was a situation where you already forgot it.

sometimes people are sensitive and insecure and someone may have already told them they didn’t really read their email. so instead me also telling them, I’ll just go with the flow.

being honest and building healthy, authentic relationships is obviously key, but every now and again in life these situations happen and it doesn’t mean you’re a horrible person for doing so.

Reminded me of the early Siri ads with the star gazing kids. Except Siri back then would have taken an age to answer anything (If it even could).
Wonder if there was a caption somewhere in these ads saying the scenes & waiting times do not reflect real time etc !
Otherwise, a decent highlight of features I thought. (Features not delivered yet sadly).

Those are cute, simple, very easy to understand by non-tech people (Apple's main customer base of their 1 billion users), everyday examples of how one could use the new features made available by Apple's entry into AI.

It's not surprising they'll be routinely panned, ridiculed, and dismissed here, just like every other new Apple product introduction, going back more than two decades to when iPod (and iPhone, Watch, iPad, etc.) was released.
The problem will arise when those non_tech folks buy their new phone and can't find those features. That is my issue with running ads featuring capabilities the phones won't have until some later date.

No. Everything shown is all Apple. The only Apple Intelligence feature that uses OpenAI is if you ask Siri a question it doesn’t know the answer to. Then it will ask if you want to use OpenAI. Everything else Apple Intelligence is Apple made.

Is every Apple Intelligence function actually AI? Apple wants you to think so.

The behavior is shady and they are promoting it. I didn’t read something but here I’m going to tell you I did and lie to your face. I do t remember your name but I’m going to lie to your face and say I did.

Genius marketing isn’t it. We are a straight shooting company and our ad campaign is pushing lies. What’s the saying about getting to know someone. Actions speak louder than words? I guess the same can be said corporations.

What a freaking mess Apple is right now.

The actual state of these ads and their "AI".

Hiring the cat lady from Home Alone 2 ffs.

I have confidence most people who are motivated, curious, and not limited by constrained imaginations, will figure it out on their own.

Gotta love Siri.

Bella and I are from a similar area in the UK (although not the same city) but if I spoke to Siri, like she does, it either doesn't understand or completely borks what I've said.

Yet if I put on some faux American accent - full house 🫨.

Also, what's with the hideous "Genius" song at the end? Almost like they're copying Samsung and their adverts mocking Apple 🤔

Oh no... the sky is falling, the sky is falling. Dastardly Apple is at it again!

Well, I was amused by the ads even if no one else was. I read the ads as to something that Apple Intelligence could do, presented in an amusing fashion by Lady Mormont/Ellie in the way that I’m a PC/I’m a Mac used John Hodgman & Justin Long back in the day.

Ah but after 15 years will it eventually understand my soft Scottish accent. I don’t use it cause it just doesn’t understand me most times.

Email summary is the only one that will be semi-reliably useful in practice. Custom memories is a gimmick, and contextual awareness will be more miss than hit.
I probably agree with you. But, AI is just weird to me. It helps you write better email which will be better summarized by AI which will write a better reply... while you wait for the new Flappy Birds to be released. Something seems wrong to me.

Fits right with Silicon Valley, three adverts where the pitch is maximising how disingenuous you are as a feature to socially aloof people. The smirk in the advert as if they got away with being an *******, nope, you are moreso for pretending you aren't, and aren't fooling anyone in real life. Sincerity is how real relationships are formed, relationships where people don't care if you forgot their name or their email or their fish's name, too bad their pride is allergic to it.

It’s okay. The problem is that at the same time they are neglecting to improve basic functions, like updating unread Mail badges, and the myriad of usability annoyances.

You don't notice honesty is missing from these videos? If you forget someone's name just tell them?
