WWDC will ultimately decide if I remain in the Apple Ecosystem. iOS has become stale to me. Also, Siri has fallen so far behind the other AIs out there. App quality and the connected nature of the Apple ecosystem is what keeps me. I need Apple to show so solid improvements.

“From Apple Park”. Just as I thought, it didnt make much sense to have it at Steve Jobs theater given that there’s no audience. I expect that it’ll be a lot like Craig Federighi‘s iPad Pro demo. We’ll probably see some outdoor segments, Apple Park cafeteria and maybe in the Steve Jobs Theatre lobby. There’ll probably be ad format videos in betweeen segments.

I’d even argue that this might mark the end of the Stevenote era. Apple Park is such a beautiful campus. Showing it off during their presentations is probably better than watching people on a stage. Sure, there’ll be press events where Apple can interact with the world’s media face to face and they can try the new products in person, but these events may never again look like the keynote that Steve Jobs popularized.

Does anybody know why Apple hasn't added push notifications to the Developer app? or why I can only read a short summary of some of the stories in the app? There is certainly still room for improvement ...

You can usually live stream it on the apple homepage so you should be able to see it on any machine

and YouTube

Steve Jobs theater is inside Apple Park, therefore you cannot simply rule it out - but I think that some parts of the event will take place somewhere else in Apple Park. Audience or not does not matter, the thing that matters is that the theater has a big screen - without it it will be hard to show the keynote.

I am sure the keynote will be low key at the Steve Jobs theatre, just don’t expect any panning to the audience, since there likely won’t be anyone there. But, just to still have that live effect, you will see Craig demo new features, with cameras at a more up close angle and Tim announcing in front of the camera instead of to an audience. The camera or cherry picker will pan out or zoom out to show demos, mixed with the slideshows cut in and slid over showing the speaker on the left. Other developer content, thats likely how it will be too.

Someone should lock Tim Cook in the closet on June 22, otherwise another Apple event will be ruined by his fake excitement again.

Here he is, the ceo of a hugely successful company, but he’s not good at big presentations. I think he is great when he’s talking to people about Apple in general terms, financials, environmental, social policies, but when it comes to products, it almost feels like he doesn’t understand the products enough to get people really fired up about them. I know everyone says he’s no Steve Jobs, which he isn’t and that’s a good thing.

Apple knows they can’t have the brand be represented by one person, the way that it used to be with Steve. But my opinion is they should be finding a different way to use Tim Cook at these events and instead have Craig and other team members trade top billing for the big announcements. Tim can be the glue binding everything together, but there needs to be more showmanship and excitement being conveyed on stage.

Show the big screen to who? Nobody will be sitting in the theatre. When you’re producing a presentation made specifically to be viewed on everyone’s personal screens at home, you don’t need a big screen where the presentation is happening. You show the content on people’s screens directly and the camera can get up close to the presenter’s device to show them interacting with it.

Do you see a big screen behind Craig here?

I’m really hoping iOS 14 is a big one and not a small S year like 12 was
It will be a small one, all current devices will be able to use it. So with that in mind, they won't do anything drastic which is sad because iOS is still a baby after all these years.
