First off the same folks who are upset about pricing threaten to go to the Note 8 which no one seems to have an issue with costing close to a thousand dollars.

Second not sure about the pricing based on exchange but here in the us its 999 plus tax. Lots of folks get the devices on installment plans where you can upgrade once your at the 50 percent mark.

If the iPhone X is discontinued all that shows is that they did not want to discount a phone at a higher price as there were other iPhones discontinued also which is fine IMO to not create cannibaliztion amongst the products.

1) Samsung Note 8 costs the same as iPhone 8 but is all Screen without the Notch compared to iPhone X. Apple decided to charge that amount without justification, which you blatantly ignored.

2) I prefer paying up front and owning it for few years. You must understand everyone has different needs and again, Apple decided to charge that amount without justification, which you blatantly ignored.

3) No, just no. Self explanatory. If Apple said Pigs can fly, you would believe it. You’re biased, I cannot take you seriously.

.

Actually you and everyone and their mother seem to forget the fact that with the 3D sensors it’s impossible not to have a notch which puts the iPhone X camera far ahead of Samsung.

The Note 8 is not all screen because it does have bezels. Let’s agree to disagree before this turns into a nasty argument.

I'll take this notch (that I don't even notice anymore) in return for a screen that goes all the way to the bottom of the phone.

Anyone who still talks about the notch hasn't used an iPhone X. It's invisible after a day or two.

The notch is invisible.. until you look at it. The notch is intrusive.. regardless.

Don’t mind the notch at all personally..got so used to it not having a phone with it would seem odd now. Only videos I watch on it is on YouTube and its something I’m used to

My initial post came back questioning the purpose of that? Why is it so important for some consumers to prove a corporation right to other consumers?
I could throw the same question back to you.

So it’s acceptable for forum members to peddle falsehoods and misconceptions of Apple when it fits in their own little worldview, and others are not allowed to point out these lies for what they are?

If Apple is right, they are right. And if someone here is wrong, they are wrong. It’s not about siding with a big corporation over the little guy, but about caring enough about having a well-reasoned discussion to understand that this isn’t about winning or losing an argument at all.

I think the real test of the whole $1,000 ultra premium phone concept will come in the next few quarters and when the successor launches late this year - is it going to be 29M followed by very, very few as everyone who wanted one now has one and everyone else sees zero value in spending even more for a model that is arguably worse than the 8+? Then when the ‘XI’ launches, will it be a case of everyone looks at their X, the very scant changes made (perhaps the plus model will save them here?) and thinks naw I’m not spending another $1,000 for virtually no benefit. Were a lot of the sales of the X down to it being the much hyped and heavily advertised 10th anniversary iPhone, and will that shine have worn off by the next round? The fact they undersold what was expected (29M vs 35M) suggests people aren’t really as enamoured with the idea of the X as had been expected (and of course this isn’t withstanding the fact that 29 billion in a single quarter from a single product is exceptional, but what I’m trying to get at is can they sustain it?).

Because it makes sense to have a wide range of prices.

I still have an old 6 and it is slow as molasses, a 6S is not too far from becoming like that.

Why buying something that will be almost unusable with next software upgrade?

I'm sure a lot of people like me would have bought the more expensive 256GB model at $1149, so that revenue could be even bigger?
So in your world if not sold in billions everything is a failure

Your gut feeling isn't worth anything.
Fact and statistic is and the fact is that iPhone x i selling better than domesday predictions said.

haven't seen anything which resemble Facts and Statistics yet

If you had sense (even 000.01%) then we would be having a sensible conversation. I don’t need to agree or disagree to a devoted fan (FB) who would follow them over a cliff because all I read is just gibberish.

Now, you are an engineer and so called expert. Fingerprint under the screen was out of the question but now we see other brands releasing it, so please keep your expert opinion to yourself. I have used Note 8 and I prefer it over the X. Although I use iOS only unless Apple continue to disappoint me.

If I wanted your opinion, I would ask for it.

I stand by my numbers. Not a chance margins will be over 38%. Feb 1st is around the corner. ;)

I wasn't suggesting that Apple's gross margin would be over 38%. I was saying that it would likely be a fair bit higher if the other things you said were true.

The ASP for iPhones in Apple's 1Q 2017 was $695. If 35-38 million out of the 80-82 million iPhones it sold this past quarter were iPhone Xs, that ASP would likely be at least $75 higher. I expect it would be considerably higher, but I'll use $75. Total revenue for 80 million iPhones with an ASP of $770 would be $61.6 billion. Total non-iPhone revenue for 1Q 2017 was $24 billion. So that already puts us, even with conservative estimates, over $85 billion total revenue.

Hey man your the one who replied to my post. So there’s that and in regards to other brands releasing fingerprint under the screen let me fix that for you.

There is one company Vivo who has released this in China. So it’s not other brands and regardless this isn’t about other Brands this is about Apple anyway.

Have a good life.

There is that? I think not. I suggest you improve on how you communicate with others.
