You’re correct of course.

Next year Apple might lose .1% market share.

With the number of units shipped and far more than Samsung…market share is about the most meaningless metric out there, imo.
As the stimulus checks stop coming, the more expensive section of the tablet market is bound to suffer the most, so Apple may lose 10% rather than 0.1%

That's one, but very limited, way of looking at it.

Exactly. My needs do not require a PC/Mac at all.

I can watch, record, edit, and share videos, use, share, and maintain document, movie, and photo databases, access and control remote "real" PCs, check email, send texts, surf the Net, shop, bank, game, create and record my own music, run home automation, on and on and on.

You know, trivial stuff.
I’m glad I had my mac so I could solve the issue I had with my iPad the other week. But realistically I’m on my iPad or iPhone 99.9% or the time. I only keep a mac in the house just in case something comes up that I need a traditional computer for. It’s more of a reassurance thing than a need. Apart from transferring my iTunes library across to my new iPhone every year and resolving the issue with my iPad I’ve not needed my Mac in more than 6 years.

I’m all about the trivial stuff ;)

Yeah I think after I saw what iPadOS 15 was about after they show cased the M1 in the iPad Pro, I knew Apple is simply going to offer way overpowered hardware and keep it held back by the software so they can continue to sell you a Mac and iPad.
It worked. Apple marketing is genius.
