Does it only have stairs to enter?
how do people with disabilities enter in the store?

Nice. They seem to building a number of these underground stores. I have noticed they have one going up (or is that down) in Walnut Creek, California

and my local store is in the basement of a 2nd rate mall in the same space when first opened and nothing cool or fun....no grand staircase, no avenue, no giant screen tv.......sigh.

Same - I'm thrilled to have an Apple Store only a few blocks away, but it's in a strip shopping center :p

The only thing "special" about it is wall-to-wall glass on the front (which does look nice) and the fact it's always packed to the gills ;)

Downtown Milan is full of people (most of them tourist), in particular the avenue next to the shop, I think it was a good choice for Apple.
As far as I remember they wanted to have the store into the Galleria, just next to Duomo (here a couple of pics) but in the end they lost against Prada who got there so piazza Liberty was the second choice. In piazza Liberty they had the ability to overhaul the square, in Galleria they'd have a lot of restrictions since it is an historical place, so in the end I'm happy they went to Liberty.
Having the store downtown is really convenient to a lot of people like me so we can have a genius bar appointment after work or during the lunch break.

That's right, I remember the talk of an apple store in the Galleria. That area near the Duomo is always packed with people.

Agreed re Liberty Piazza. Do you live in Milan?

Luckily they included more pictures of products for sale, so people stop thinking its a store full of bare tables ;)

That's one seriously cool design, for a seriously cool city.

Indeed @AngelaAhrendts did a fantastic job on this project. She’s worth her payroll and bonuses. To be honest she could be a threat to some oversight that Ive may have. Imagine what Apple Park could look like with BOTH of them harmoniously collaborating :O

Nice photos! Hope to visit some time.

Same here!!

Remember when Apple was known because it was used (mostly) by talented people?... Now we need a PC to draw on our computers and try to hype up retail stores.

Brilliant.

What on earth are you trying to say? Who says Apple doesn’t have talented people? Drawing on a PC huh?? Hype up retail stores? Name me one business that has stores on THIS level?!

Note how the modern minimalist design blends perfectly with the Renaissance.
[doublepost=1532717390][/doublepost]And by the way, Melbourne, take your crappy square. Let Pizza Hut put up an actual Pizza Hut store.

Your square looks like a bad drawing by the Apple Maps of 5 years ago.

Who cares if they do or do not... That is the point!

You are conflating the most valuable physical retail strategy currently in existence with Apple’s ability to make a device suitable to match your heretofore unpublished requirements for drawing on a screen? Does not compute.

You must not know how to draw if you think "physical retail strategy" is a substitute. Good God, does not compute indeed.

If only Apple had released Apple Pencil...

...Not attached to a tablet with a Mickey Mouse Mobile OS

There fixed it for you.

Good God you seem VERY iritable for being on a forum. You may not care ... I do, and I'm just hypothesizing thoughts. Your opinion is yours and your right, yet who are you to speak for everyone? In any event have a wonderful day.

I read 3 pages of people gushing over "retail space" and didn't think of arriving at the conclusion they "speaking for everyone" and needed a direct rebuttal from me. I went to the end of the line and put my opinion in. No different from everyone else before.

That is what forums are for - Opinions. Sometimes they Pro other times Cons. They both valid in the same way.

You also! Cheers.

This new flagship location features a huge fountain with water cascading over glass walls that customers walk through to enter the store.

Absolutely gorgeous, Apple Store Milan - but what else would the world expect from them?

....and this is what we get here in Chicago....

(a "MacBook Air roof" - are you kidding?)

The store is opened from 10am to 9pm so 11 hours, 7 days a week. At least there are two shifts during each day and I guess at least 20 people will be in the AS at any time, not counting the guys repairing stuff for the genius bar. 200 people seems a reasonable number of people to me
230 people x 40 hours per week is 9,200 worked hours per week. If the store is open 77 hours per week that makes (9,200 / 77) 120 manning the store at any given time.

Even if you make adjustments for sick leave, vacation leave, etc. that still seems like a lot.

You say that like we should just agree with your problems with the store. Why would I be surprised that that's in America?

I do.
The area next to the Duomo is packed, if you go there before Christmas or during sales in the week-end it is almost too crowded.
Liberty square will be crowded too, I'm sure about that. It wasn't a very popular square because it is quite hidden from the main avenue, but thank to the AS and to the fountain a lot of people will go there.

There is of course an elevator, they placed it at the opposite side of the square so most of the pics don't show it since everyone shot at the fountain.
I guess it was too inclined to build a ramp for wheelchairs and strollers.
