They also slashed the trade-in value on IN-PROCESS trade-ins. I sent my late 2016 model macbook in (perfect condition) on trade-in they originally offered me $890 for and then when they received it they sent me a revised offer of just about $300 claiming a problem with delamination of the screen coating even though the screen was exactly as it was when it was brand new. They're playing some ******** games with people. I rejected their crap offer and they're sending it back to me. We need to raise hell about this crap.

I wish they would do the trade-in in Ireland as well. The so-called trade-in here is more like recycling and the money you get is not worth the effort, you're better off selling it at CEX (webuy.com). I got 500 Euro for my nearly 8 year old banged-up MacBook Pro last year.

Apple's New Estimated Apple Watch Trade-in Values
  • Apple Watch Series 4 -- up to $100 ($110)
  • Apple Watch Series 3 -- up to $70 ($70)
  • Apple Watch Series 2 -- up to $60 ($60)
  • Apple Watch Series 1 -- up to $30 ($30)

The depreciation of Apple Watches shocks me every time I think about it. I have a Series 4 and it works fantastically well still. If I buy a Series 6 this year for £450 (minimum) then I don't think it's too crazy to want about £150 for my Series 4 but it'll probably be closer to £80 by then. How can something so expensive become basically worthless in two years? It's so unlike Apple products to not hold their value after such a short amount of time.

My daily driver 7 plus is working just fine. No need to trash it just yet.
I also have a 7, and I will use it until it dies or until I hit a software limitation that affects me. I would like a camera upgrade but it's not urgent for me. It's just a phone. The newness and novelty of them wear off quickly for me so I keep them as long as I can. I've had the current phone since December of 2017

It happens, but I AM SHOCKED it took this long for the trade in value to finally drop. $600 was a tempting deal even in mid Dec. for my XSMax...but I didn't cave. My XS Max still works perfectly fine, a new phone is just not personally needed right now.

I just want to see what comes out in Sept. 2020.

When I wanted to see the value of my trade in of my VERY old AW1 Black Stainless Steel to put towards the AW4, it was laughable. $30 bucks!! (Um...no thanks, I'll just keep it)

AW4 Stainless Steel still works great and super fast. $100 for this..again, laughable. Yeah its very apparently the AW's do not have a great - or even slightly good trade in. The depreciation is awful.

I guess you have to have it in your mind, if you want a 700 watch...simply put...your better off keeping it, because you will not get jack squat back in 1 year...heck 6 months!

Where in its Earnings Releases, is Apple specifying "the Cost to the Company" of the Used, Traded-In iPhones & iPads ?

As a reminder, OR for those who are UN-aware, Apple records the List Price when they sell an iPhone OR iPad.

That's what they include in Reported iPhone AND iPad Revenue.

Tim Cook has publicly stated fairly-recently that one-third of ALL new iPhone sales included a Trade In.

Anybody know the Answer to the Question ?

I'm concerned now because I just received my Apple trade in kit for my 7+ that is set up for a $200 trade in when I upgraded. Will that still be honored?

I'd call and verify.
I just chatted with Apple and they say it will be honored.
