I'm not surprised.

After seeing a number of iPad Mini sales for $299, (check this current list), the only way to move the refurbs is to sell them for less.

Since it seems the Mini is a very popular product vs full size, the retailers are offering Mini as lure vs full size, and then Apple has extra of less popular full size refurbs, so drop price on that.

Speculative, but to see Apple lets its retail partners offer Mini's for almost 10% off without complaining so soon is interesting.

WHY?
Why aren't these EVER offered as a refurb? Aren't they ever returned and refurbished? EVER?

Because the 128 gb model was only released in February. Apple probably won't start selling the refurbished 128 gb model for another month or two.

Everything I've bought refurbished has been aesthetically flawless, and has worked like new, AND is fully warrantied and eligible for AppleCare. And I've saved money, and I figure saved Apple from trashing the planet by shredding something that can be fixed. Saving up to 20% is nice.

Oh, and they stand behind the refurbished just as strongly as the new stuff...

Your points are all well taken-- save one! Unfortunately, refurbs are NOT eligible for Apple Care + or for Square Trade coverage, so there is a major downside to going refurb!

Better to buy new and get some accident-drop protection. ST even has it without a deductible! (And, no, I don't have any connection with them, just a satisfied customer!)

If I wait for Black Friday I can probably get a deeper discount, actually, the Monday after Black Friday is the best day of the year to go shopping with huge discounts, it is worth the wait instead of waiting for a tiny store discount.

Oh thats nice.......now let me see, $359 US for the 32gig mini with wifi. XE says that should be $372.72AU. Apple Australia store. $428AU.

*Le sigh*

Those Dell monitors turn a Thunderbolt port into a hub with Ethernet, FW800, and USB as well as hav speakers and a camera built-in do they?

No. But those Apple Thunderbolt monitors doesn't have USB 3.0 hub, three years warranty by default, multiple versatile video-inputs, setting buttons, and rotatable arm either, do they?

While Dell is cheaper, has same resolution and thousand times more functional as a monitor than Apple Thunderbolt Display.

..You're welcome

A THOUSAND!? WOW! That's amazing! I bet they make you dinner too!!!

How many inputs do you need for your Mac monitor? My mac only has one video output, that's Thundrbolt, so not sure what I'd need the others for. My Thunderbolt display rotates just fine on my VESA arm, and don't need setting buttons.

..and I didn't ask you for anything, not sure what I should be welcome for.

I don't know. But I'm using HDMI here for my PC tower, ever heard one?High Definition Multimedia Interface?
I connected my Macbook too via Display Port on the monitor .. oh yes it's not Thunderbolt so it's useless.
I can connect my external USB 3 external harddrive instead of plugging in on my Macbook
I ever need another computer connected, it's still has DVI input spared

The Dell has built in rotatable foot without the need of wasting another dollars for fancy VESA wall mount.
Lastly, I need setting buttons because it's way more accurate and quick instant control rather than fiddling with the OS. You should try one. Pro monitors have it.

But of course Thunderbolt is the one and only connection on earth so nobody should need other than that, no?

Oh and one more thing, the Dell display also works with Thunderbolt Macs since it has Display Port input, while your fancy Thunderbolt Display does not work with any computer unless it has Thunderbolt. Yep, a $999 paperweight.

So Dell monitor connects to thousand more computers than ATD ever could. Hence it's literally thousand times more functional as a proper display. :D

Yes. Saving $20 on an item unfit for sale the first time around and thus required 'refurbishment', is a joke.

Shows how much you know about refurbished merchandise.

Unfit? How about purchased new then returned within the 14 day window. Yup, that's now a refurbished unit. Nothing wrong other than buyer's remorse by the original owner.

Refurb units get !00 percent QC inspection rate. Brand new off the assembly line? Not as much.

Full warrantly included in case they actually did miss something that's wrong.

Geez, what's not to like here?

The real joke is your earlier post.

In the UK the John Lewis group re-sell most items returned within 30 days with a 15-20% mark down, including Apple products [and yes] including full warranty and purchase rights.

Well, if you need the $20 that badly off a premium Apple product.....? That is the real joke IMO, which is on you. LOL!

Wal-Mart

I know I've already mentioned walmart, and I haven't been following this thread, so I apologize if my little update has been mentioned. On walmart.com, you can purchase a refurbished ipad mini for $269 (plus tax). If you open a walmart credit account and make a purchase the same day, you do get the $20 back that I mentioned previously. If you create a walmart account online, and then apply for the credit account online, you will be issued a temporary account number so you can make your purchase while online, and not have to wait for your card to come in the mail. The rate is something like 22.9%, but I intend to pay this off in full as soon as I have the permanent account number.
