Other than the iMac Pro, these look like reasonable reductions in price over time. And the iMac Pro was, frankly, not worth $1,150

Yeah, the prices on that have been bad in both directions. It's old hardware at this point.

We are not charities either. And it's not like the entire purpose of our existence is to give them money. They have the right to charge whatever they want, and we have the right to complain as much as we want.

Did I miss the part where you were obligated to trade your stuff into Apple?

Nope I was responding to someone who was responding to someone else.

And regardless, people can still complain. If you are talking about obligation, nobody is obligated to listen, and nobody is obligated to not complain.

And I literally said Apple has the right to charge whatever they want. You are the one who missed that part. But I added that we have the right to complain. Would you say that we don't have the right to even say anything?

Trade in value: "iPhone 13 Pro: Up to $550 (vs. $600)"
It used to be $650 when the iPhone 14 series was released. :(

For many people, just easier to trade in with Apple directly than the hassles of selling it online like on eBay, Swappa, or wherever.
If you don't like it trading in directly with Apple, fine, don't complain when others do.
Everyone has a choice. Complaining that other people's choices are bad doesn't make your choice the best choice.

I guess "inflation" only goes one way.

(I'm kidding, of course. Older devices are worth less, even as the dollar also is.)

So they use inflation to justify jacking up prices but slashes the value they have to pay back for the devices… really loving the directions they’re going these days

They were already low to begin with compared to last year’s trade-in values.

Also, “slashes” - why is the title so dramatic? Why not just “reduces” or “decreases?”

Why did the XR and XS raise in price?

Is that a hint that the XR/XS have even more years left of service?

You guys act like Apple is a damn charity. Their entire purpose for existing is to make as much money as possible. Same for any business.
No we act like consumers who are fed up with apples continued money grabs. Their existence should be based on more than just making more money than any other company. Greed is greed how ever you want to twist it. Apple existed to make imaginative and ground breaking products for people to enjoy and utilize to enhance their lives. That was their reason before Tim and people like you arrived on the scene. Money money money……..🤑

One would be kind thinking it's the cost of processing goods for refurbishment has gone up, instead its more likely aftermath of this pandemic making goods more expensive to sell. So the real question is, after Apple sales start to gain again in a non-pandemic marketplace, will trade in's go up in value?

Then don't buy and move on. 🤷‍♂️
