First, the sample was tainted. Out of 79,000 responses, I would bank on less than 300 were Apple.
You're making an assumption, which means you're wrong right from the get go and your words are about as useful as Kim Kardashian for President.
About Apple fan-boy owners:
Now you're just being rude.
They spent a lot on the Mac, so they are "happy", weather this means the mac is performing or they let it collect dust, they are satisfied because they believe in the "value" of spending more on a product, or the more you pay, the better it must be.
Wrong again. Am I seeing a trend here?
First, we are happy with our computers because they actually work and do what we want them to do when we want them to do it. I know, I know, I was shocked too when I bought my 1st Apple.
Second, we are happy with this article because we did pay more money than your avg PC, and in return, expected more in terms of quality, both in hardware, software and overall user experience. We are happy because, for once, we got what we paid for - I know, it's unheard of !
Of those who use a mac and are totally satisfied, they maybe the only computers that they have used for years, and so they just don't understand the value of a pc.
Bingo - wrong again.
Most of us came from the PC side of the fence, especially over the last decade, though as you can see through sales figures, many are just now switching over. I myself was a PC user for 21 years, switched over 2 months ago. I can promise you this, the overall experience you get from a Mac is a million times better than any PC out there. I can also promise you that we understand "the value of a pc" quite well, if not better than you and your blind, misguided ideas.
It's "consider".
Stay in school.
that the demand for PCs is far greater than macs, you come across the "cut corners" approach by many manufacturers to keep prices competitive.
Wow...you just gave yourself a glimpse of why we pay more for better...unfortunately it went over your head and under your feet. Food for thought on your day off, perhaps?
This does not exist on the mac because OSX is linked to hardware, and not supported on any other platform.
Ignorance is bliss.
Apple doesn't cut corners like other PC manufacturers because they want to offer their customers a certain experience, stemming from its leader's visions. Your typical PC manufacturer could careless in comparison.
FYI: I have been building computers for over 15 years, and own a Mac Mini for iPhone App Development. Recently I upgraded the mac mini with a hybrid drive and more memory. Yes, I did upgrade it myself, and no, I did not use the spatula method as it damaged the case, I used the wire method. Apple does not want you to upgrade their computers, they want to have you spend money.
News flash - 99% of the world's population doesn't care about programming and development, or doing your own upgrades above and beyond a disc drive and RAM. They just want a device that makes their lives easier and more enjoyable. Mac does that, PC doesn't (the PC experience actually does the opposite).
Btw, Apple has a Mac Pro line available, if you're serious about configurations and need such a work horse.
Do I love the mac? Not really,
Boy am I glad you cleared that up! I wasn't sure there for a second.
OSX is not the easiest to use and there are so many basic things that windows 7 does that OSX does not.
As I'm sure there are things that OS X does that W7 does not. They are 2 different operating systems. Make no mistake about it, OS X is better than W7 from a user experience point of view, if not more, and it's very easy to use, especially with a trackpad.
And let's not talk about other Windows OSs for that matter, especially Vista. Let's just not. After all, it's Christmas.
